My visit to the capital of Bulgaria was very short, in fact we only visited there for a few hours, and the only place that I decided to visit in Sofia was the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The choice was obvious, since the temple is the main attraction and hallmark of the city. And absolutely not in vain. The golden dome of the temple and powerful walls remind of the greatness of the Christian faith. I advise you to visit here to everyone who is at least for a short time in Sofia.

The Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky is the visiting card of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Our tour began with him and we were immediately amazed by his majesty and beauty. To be honest, I have never seen a more beautiful temple in my life. If you are ever in Sofia, be sure to include this place in your list of must-see places.

Sveti Aleksandar Nevski is the most famous church in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. The cathedral was erected in memory of the Russian soldiers who fell in the battles for the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman yoke. This monumental Orthodox church, the largest in the Balkans, has become a kind of symbol of the country's liberation. Its golden domes are visible from afar. Not only the exterior, but also the interior impresses with the splendor of finishes: Italian marble, Brazilian onyx, African alabaster.

Traditionally, all excursions start from the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. This is not only a cathedral, but also a monument. And it was built in honor of the Russian soldiers who died in the battles for the liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish rule. This is one of the largest temples in the Balkans and the largest in Bulgaria. It is located on the square of the same name, right behind the People's Assembly Square. The temple is really huge, it’s hard to shoot it, the best view is from the Tsar Liberator Boulevard.
