The Vasil Levski National Stadium is the largest stadium in Sofia with a capacity of over 46,000 spectators. The stadium is named after the national hero of Bulgaria Vasil Levski. It opened in 1953, later two significant renovations were carried out there: so today it is equipped according to all modern standards. It hosts not only football matches, but also competitions in judo, fencing, gymnastics and other sports. The stadium also houses the Sports Museum, several conference rooms and restaurants. Often it is chosen as the venue for their concerts by world stars of show business.
