Lobkowicz Palace, Lobkowicz Palace
Czech republic, Prague
The Lobkowicz Palace is the family residence of the Lobkowicz princely family, built in the first half of the 16th century. Initially, the building was erected in the Renaissance style, but in the second half of the 17th century the palace was reconstructed in the Baroque style. In 1918-1919, the Lobkowitz family rented out part of the palace premises for offices of employees of the Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia. In 1939, the palace was confiscated, later it was nationalized by the communists, then the building was given to the needs of the National Museum. In 2002, the family residence was returned to Lobkowitz, the palace and now belongs to the princely family.

The wealthy and influential Lobkowicz family had more than one palace and house in Prague. This one, one of the best - on Vlaska. Giovanni Battista Alliprandi built this magnificent palace in 1703-1707. Its majestic Baroque street faç ade is impressive, but it is worth seeing the faç ade overlooking the garden. He is very dynamic and extremely beautiful. From 1753 to 1927 the palace belonged to the Lobkowicz family. Beethoven and Weber gave concerts here in the dome hall. Beginning in 1927, when the palace was sold to the state, it housed the Ministry of Education and various institutes of the Academy of Sciences.

The most famous museum in Prague, very beautiful interior, wonderful collection of paintings, artefacts and works of art. The ticket price includes an audio guide in several languages (owner and narrator Maximilian Lobkowitz). It will take you several hours to see everything. There is also a museum shop and a good restaurant with a nice view of the city.
