Dresden castle residence

Residence Palace, Dresdner Residenzschloss
Germany, Dresden
The Dresden Castle-Residence is located in the city center and was the former residence of the Saxon Electors and Kings. This is one of the oldest buildings in the city, it combines various architectural styles from romanticism to historicism.

During the bombing of 1945, the castle was almost completely destroyed, and only from the end of the 80s of the last century began to be reconstructed. Currently, the castle houses a museum with over 3,000 Saxon and European jewelry items. The museum includes five exhibition halls - the New and Old Green Vaults, the Engraving Cabinet, the Coin Cabinet, the Armory, the Turkish Chamber.

The oldest building in Dresden, the first mention of it dates back to the end of the 12th century. The castle was rebuilt many times. It acquired its final form in 1901. The most interesting (as for a young lady) is a collection of all sorts of precious things in the "Green Vaults". If possible, be sure to visit.
