The Zwinger is a palace and park complex in the historic center of Dresden, next to the Dresden Castle-Residence and the Semperoper Opera a>. This architectural ensemble, not without reason considered a masterpiece of the late Baroque, was built of sandstone during the 18th-19th centuries. This palace is deservedly called the decoration of the city and the country, it serves as an elegant and unique example of the German baroque style of the eighteenth century. Today, the Zwinger Palace is the place where the most famous German museums are located, which invariably gather crowds of tourists from different parts of our planet. Great place for walks and beautiful photos

I loved to know (as a class, not as a verb) it is very convenient to get settled! Well, they did not want to walk in the rain! So there was such a beauty as the Zwinger. You can also walk from museum to museum without going out under the Dresden rain. If the weather is good, then admire the fountains and MUST listen to the chime of porcelain bells. He is surprisingly very quiet, but beautiful. Entrance to the Zwinger is free. There is a through ticket for all the Zwinger museums, but I did not purchase it.

Seeing this architectural ensemble - you will not remain indifferent. Beautiful baroque buildings frame a wonderful square courtyard with fountains. With its richness and sophistication of forms, it looks like a royal palace. Nevertheless, this is not a palace, but a museum. This magnificent building was originally conceived by Augustus the Strong not as a palace, but as a place to store his collections of paintings, porcelain, weapons, etc. And it performs its function to this day. The world-famous Dresden Gallery is located here - the Gallery of Old Masters, the Royal Porcelain Collection, the Physics and Mathematics Salon.
