Altes Rathaus
Germany, Lindau
The old town hall of Lindau was built in 1422 in the Gothic style, but in 1576 the building was reconstructed in the Renaissance style. The bells of the tower have been delighting the townspeople with their battle since 1617. The town hall is decorated with numerous murals telling about the history of Lindau. The city library and archive are located on the ground floor. The upper floors of the Town Hall are still used for their intended purpose - meetings of the city council are held here.

The old town hall was built in the 15th century. Initially, the building was designed in the Gothic style, but a century later it was reconstructed in the Renaissance style. When painting on the walls, both biblical scenes and stories about the arrival of the King of France Philip the Handsome in Lindau were used - the frescoes depict musicians playing cheerful melodies, and the city's nobility demonstrates their rich outfits. Now the building of the Town Hall houses the municipal archive and the city library.
