The city gates in Munich are the remains of the second line of medieval city fortifications. At present, the Charles Gate, built at the end of the 13th century, the Sendling Gate (beginning of the 14th century) and the Isar Gate (beginning of the 14th century), have been preserved. All of them harmoniously fit into modern architecture and are popular tourist sites.
