Nimes Cathedral (Cath? drale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Castor) is dedicated to the Mother of God and the local Saint Castor. Its history has three periods. The first, a Romanesque building, was erected over a Carolingian church, which, in turn, was built on Roman ruins. This temple was consecrated in 1096 by Pope Urban during active propaganda activities to organize the Crusade. After the building was badly damaged and found a second life in the 17th century, when it was rebuilt in a more classical style.→
