The church was previously called Saint-Pooire. Before the revolution, it was a monastery at the abbey of Saint-Per-de-Shartre, first mentioned in the document of 1115. The Church of St. Patern was rebuilt on the foundation of the old building in the 19th century on the model of churches of the 13th century, and, like most buildings copied from an earlier period, is often criticized, is considered massive and cold.
