The Fountain of the Innocents is the oldest Parisian fountain, a masterpiece of the French Renaissance, standing in its current location on Place Joachim (Joachim) du Bellay since 1788. Prior to this, the fountain bore the name of the Fountain of the Nymphs and was located near the cemetery of the Innocents. The fountain was built in the Mannerist style, typical of European art of the 16th century. It is an arch decorated with sculptures of cupids, nymphs and naiads.
