Chatelet Square is located in the center of Paris near the Pont Changel. It is one of the main transport hubs of the city. This is one of the oldest squares in the French capital; its history dates back to the 12th century, when Louis VI erected the Grand Châtelet fortress near the Changer Bridge. In 1802, the fortress was demolished, and the Victory Fountain was built in its place, named after the victories of Napoleon. There are also two theaters on the square, located opposite each other - the Chatelet and the City.

Square of two theaters
2 theaters overlook the square - the City and the Chatelet, in which Fyodor Chaliapin sang. I went to look at the Châ telet fountain, standing on the square, decorated with sphinxes and a column in honor of Napoleon's victories. If you go to see the Saint-Jacques Tower, then this square is nearby.→
