Erzsébet Square is located in the historical center on the left bank of the Danube, south of St. Stephen's Basilica. It was founded in the middle of the 19th century and named after Empress Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary, wife of Franz Joseph. The square is planted with trees and flowers, and the Danube Fountain flaunts in its center.
