Ruins of Pompeii

Pompei
Italy, Naples
The ancient Roman city of Pompeii is an open-air museum and one of Italy's most popular attractions. The city was buried under the ash from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The first excavations of Pompeii began in 1748. The city is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I recommend it to lovers of ancient Roman ruins : ) In Pompeii from Rome, I traveled by train to Naples, and then by train. I do not recommend visiting Pompeii on your own. Huge areas have been excavated, and it is very difficult to find the most famous places. There is no greenery, nowhere to hide from the sun, no water, no shops, everything is with you. It’s better to come to the opening, I was already at 9 and before lunch I went with a guide (3 hours), and just walked a little more. After Pompeii, I recommend visiting the National Archaeological Museum (see my review about the museum).
