Galleria Spada, Palace of Cardinal Spada
Italy, Rome
The Spada Gallery was opened in 1951 and occupies the building of the Cardinal Spada Palace. The museum consists of four large frescoed halls, where valuable art objects, utensils, antique and modern furniture are displayed. The gallery's collection contains many paintings by masters of painting of the 16th and 17th centuries, including works by Guido Reni, Rubens, Jan Brueghel the Elder, Guercino and Artemisia Gentileschi. Among the items of utensils, two beautiful Murano glass chandeliers and globes by the Dutch cartographer Guglielmo Blo stand out.
