The Sigiriya plateau is located in the center of Sri Lanka at an altitude of 370 meters. For centuries, this place served as a strategic point of the Sri Lankan states. The ruins of the palace complex of King Kasapa with its rich and unusual murals have survived to this day. Sigiriya is one of the most visited places on the island, and since 1982 it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

nice top view. you can meet monkeys

I advise you not to take a lot of water, after the mirror wall near the tiger oap there is water on the site. I advise you to take cookies, sweets or bread or fruits, nuts with you - there are monkeys you can feed them It is better to go early in the morning at seven or eight o'clock then it is not so hot. Sigiriya is called the eighth wonder of the world. A visit to Sri Lanka without a visit to Sigeria would be incomplete. This is one of the main attractions. Sigiriya translates as "Lion Plateau". There is a legend that in the 5th century AD. e. King Kasap's father deprived him of the throne in favor of his younger son Mogallan. Kasap's mother was a concubine. The eldest son decided to take revenge on his father and imprisoned him, and then completely killed him. The younger brother got scared and fled to South India.→
