The New Town Market Square was built almost at the same time as the Old Town, but its architecture and form date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Its form is particularly distinctive. Originally it was a large square, crossed diagonally by a road. In the 17th century, the area was very attractive, and the land north of the road was simply built up. The rest of the square became the New Town Market Square with its unusual triangular shape. It is relatively small, sloping down towards the monastery and church.→
