The National Azulejo Museum is the largest collection of traditional Portuguese and Spanish decorative material in the Iberian Peninsula - hand-painted glazed clay tiles. The museum is located in the 16th century Baroque Church of Our Lady of God, decorated with azulejo tiles and included in the list of national treasures of Portugal. The exposition of the museum presents the entire range of Portuguese ceramics of all colors and subjects, the most ancient examples date back to the 15th century. There is a department dedicated to ceramic production technology. Another part of the museum presents a collection of tiles of modern work.
