Ataturk House Museum in Alanya

House Museum of Ataturk in Alanya, House of Ataturk
Turkey, Alanya
The Ataturk Museum in Alanya is located on Azaklar Street, in the Shchekerhane district. On February 18, 1935, the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk visited Alanya, arriving here by sea. During his visit, he stayed at the house of Tefvik Azakoglu, where he stayed for several days. In memory of this, the owner of the house gave this house to the Ministry of Culture of Turkey and in 1987 the Ataturk House Museum was opened in the building.
In the rooms of the first floor of the museum, personal belongings of Ataturk are presented: photographs, some historical documents related to Alanya and signed by the great leader himself. In other rooms, samples of the ethnographic creativity of the local population and elements of a typical Alanian dwelling are presented.

There are few places that position themselves as a "house-museum" in which it would be truly interesting. And the house-museum of Ataturk did not become that cherished exception. Boring, nothing to look at, the building is inconspicuous at all.
