Shipyard

Shipyard (Alanya), Alanya Shipyard, Tersane, Tersane
Turkey, Alanya
Medieval dry dock in the city of Alanya (Turkey), built by the Seljuks in 1228. The building of the shipyard, from the sea side, 56.5 m long and 44 m wide, consists of five chambers with equilateral lancet arches. The inscription on the front door of the shipyard is decorated with the coat of arms of Sultan Ala-ad-Din Kay-Kubad - the shipyard was built by his order in 1228, two years after the Kyzyl Kule (Red Tower) and 7 years after he conquered the city.
The shipyard is located in the port of the city. It can be reached by boat or on foot, bypassing the walls at the Red Tower. Paid entrance.

Indescribable beauty. This is the place where ships were born, the history is rich, films have been made about these places. Exciting. We took a boat trip and caught fish from the ship. I advise everyone who has the opportunity to try.
