The mosque was built in 1230 and completely renovated in 1373. The inscription on the minaret says that it was built by the Seljuk sultan Ala-ad-din Kay-Kubad I (r. 1219-1237). It is one of the earliest examples of Islamic architecture in Antalya. The minaret is visible from almost anywhere in the city, and has long been a symbol of the city of Antalya.
The entrance to the minaret is located on the north side of the base. 90 steps of a spiral staircase, illuminated through cuts in the walls of the minaret, lead to a balcony - sherefe. In all likelihood, the original staircase had 99 steps, each of which reminded the muezzin of 99 names of God.

Or a spaceship taking off
The oldest minaret in Antalya certainly deserves attention. For eight centuries, the appearance of the minaret has not changed much. And it reminds me of a spaceship launching into the sky, and next to the mosque is the mission control center : )))→

For lovers of history and architecture - Yivli Minaret
The brick minaret of Ivli without a mosque is also a symbol of Antalya. It was built in the 13th century under the Seljuk sultan Alaeddin. It stands on a square pedestal, decorated with azure mosaics. The minaret is easily recognizable by its longitudinal vertical depressions on the stone. In addition, it lacks the turquoise faience cladding traditional for Turkish architecture. Very beautiful and memorable→
