Beldibi Cave

Beldibi Cave, Beldibi Cave, Beldibi Cave
Turkey, Kemer
25 kilometers from the center of Antalya and not far from the Turkish resort of Kemer is the national park Olympos - Bedaglar. Beldibi Cave is located in this park, 16 kilometers away from Kemer.
The cave is located at the foot of the sandstone mountains that extend into the sea and consists of two parts. It has been used since the Paleolithic. True, the most beautiful places in the cave belong to the Mesolithic era. This historical artifact was first discovered in 1956.
There are six cultural layers in the cave: Paleolithic, Mesolithic, transitional from the Mesolithic to the Neolithic, the 4th, 5th and 6th layers belong to the Paleolithic era. On the walls there are schematic drawings of a man, a shaman, mountain goats and deer, hunting scenes, figures depicting the mother goddess, divided into 4 sections by dots. The pictures were made with paints made from manganese oxide and natural iron.
The cave is located at an altitude of twenty-five meters above sea level and has a vaulted shape. This place, located among coniferous forests, was used by primitive hunters of the Paleolithic and Neolithic times as a refuge or dwelling.

I don’t know where the first person who left the review took the photos from, but obviously not near Beldibi) It seems to me that these are photos of the “pirate cave” that can be seen on a pleasure boat if you sail from Kemer towards Kirish (opposite to Beldibi). The second comment is weird too. If you follow the geolocation left in the description of the attraction on this site, then the path will look like this: behind Beldibi in front of the first tunnel we turn towards the sea and - voila! - we see a green grid (fence) near the rock, with a sign "Beldibi cave".

I liked it, the water there is clean, turquoise, transparent. But I would not say that it was - just wow. You can go once, but it's enough

Another not hackneyed attraction of Kemer is BELDIBI CAVE. It is located at a distance of 16 kilometers from Kemer (northern direction), but it feels further. The cave is known for the fact that rock paintings of ancient people were discovered here - these are the only petrographers in all of Western Asia that have come down to our times. Moreover, the drawings were made with a special solution of manganese and iron oxide, which gives the images an unusual shade. Here are scenes that reflect the main moments of the life of ancient people.
