A two-story brick mansion built in the late 19th - early 20th century by merchant and philanthropist Semyon Mogilevtsev. Located in the historical center of Kyiv. "Chocolate House" is the unofficial name of the mansion, the architecture of which can be attributed to the stylized forms of the Renaissance palace. At the same time, the interiors of the Chocolate House are made in various styles, including baroque, modern and even gothic. After the death of Mogilevtsev in 1917, the mansion constantly changed hands. So, in the Soviet period, famous scientists and statesmen lived here. Currently, in addition to excursions, the building hosts art exhibitions and music concerts. Further plans include the opening of a children's art school and a museum.

Chocolate house
This house is often compared to Florentine palaces. I'm not an expert, but I think it's too much even for Florence. The facades are oversaturated with stucco and these elements seem to interfere with each other. I repeat, this is my personal opinion. The main beauty - in the interiors. Unfortunately, not all of them are preserved.→

Chocolate House on Lipki
The chocolate house in Kyiv is named so for its brown color and shape, reminiscent of a chocolate bar. But the house has absolutely nothing to do with real chocolate! ) For the merchant and philanthropist Semyon Mogilevtsev, a house was built in 1901 to carry out his work. The merchant did not live in it. Rooms-halls are located one after another, forming a long corridor, the letter "G". The halls are decorated in various styles: Moorish, Renaissance, Byzantine, Rococo, Art Nouveau. The paintings on the walls and ceiling are dominated by bright floral patterns, birds, butterflies, the interior - stucco and stained glass, mascarons, Venetian mirrors, carved doors and window sills.→
