Lviv Scientific Library named after Vasily Stefanyk is located in the Galician district of the city. The building was built in the middle of the 17th century in the Baroque style and originally served as a monastery. The library has been located here since the beginning of the 19th century, and the scientific library was founded in 1940. It has over 120 thousand old manuscripts, and a rich collection of rare books is also kept here.
