The Sumy Theater of Drama and Musical Comedy was founded in Lubny in 1933 on the basis of the Kharkov Mobile Theatre. In 1939, together with the creation of the Sumy region, the theater was transferred to Sumy. Then he was given the name of Mikhail Semenovich Shchepkin. Shchepkintsy received their own building in 1978. And ten years later, a monument to Shchepkin himself appeared next to the theater. In 2012, the first stage of the overhaul of the theater building was carried out. And in 2016, the second stage, the restoration of the theater premises was finally completed.→
