In 1923, one of the first research centers of Vietnam, the Institute of Oceanography, appeared in Nha Trang. An excursion to the Institute of Oceanography gives you the opportunity to visit the Museum of Marine Fauna, where more than 8,000 species of marine life are represented.

The museum has an aquarium, a showroom and a library. The aquarium is located on the first floor, it consists of 23 tanks in which representatives of the local marine fauna live. The collection of inhabitants of the aquarium includes almost all living creatures that inhabit the waters of the South China Sea, including reef sharks, turtles, seahorses, lion fish and clownfish, as well as dozens of varieties of corals. A family of crocodiles lives in a separate sector. The showroom displays 60,000 dissected specimens of marine life.

Acquaintance with the underwater world
