I have been to Thailand more than once and really like to relax in this country. I always travel on my own (I buy air tickets and book a hotel). It was not the first time I spent at the Avalon Hotel! Pattaya has grown significantly over the past few years, many beautiful and decent hotels have opened, but I decided to stay at the Avalon Beach hotel that I had already checked.
Since I have already rested in Thailand 6 times, I have something to compare and evaluate the level of management and service of the hotel.
I stayed in a garden view room, and I can say that it is no different from a deluxe room, except for the exit from the room through the balcony to the garden and further to the pool. like 4 years ago, the same televisions (a huge box on the bedside table), for a long time in all 4-star hotels, are plasma. Although the TV did not really upset me, since we were in the room for a little time, we came to spend the night.

The room was cleaned every day, but the quality of this cleaning was not very good (sand and marks on the floor), I especially did not like the bed linen washed to holes. Although a tip was left. later they stopped, because it really does not affect the quality.
Magnetic cards for entering the room worked very poorly, and it took several minutes to try to swipe the card to get into the room.
Regarding food, I can say that breakfast is the same every day, the quality of the food is normal. The only thing that caught my eye this time is that now you can only sit at the table that you will be told, despite the fact that the restaurant has a large number of free tables.
The hotel provides "Compliment" in the form of 2 bottles of 0.5 drinking water daily in an ordinary glass bottle. Keep in mind that this water must be drunk and the empty bottles left in the room, otherwise, when leaving the hotel, you will be asked to refund the money for these bottles, as we did, although there is no information that these bottles can be exchanged anywhere! We did not know this, so after 2 days the "compliments" from the hotel ended and we did not leave water for the remaining 8 days. Water in Thailand is cheap, and we can buy our own water, but this situation, in my opinion, well reflects the attitude towards tourists in the hotel. A compliment - in exchange for an empty bottle)) In general, they made me pay 50 baht for 5 bottles)) (50 rubles).
When leaving the hotel, there was another claim from the hotel - supposedly there are 7 hangers in each room, we got 5 rooms!?? )) They asked to pay another 100 baht for a hanger!! ! Check at the entrance not only the mini bar, but also the amount of other equipment!!
I really hope that the sharp decline in the level of management and attitude towards tourists is not due to the fact that now 95% of Russian tourists are resting in this hotel, who can be provided with a low level of service and at the same time from whom you can fight in "three skins", as happened with us! For 9 nights in this hotel we paid 38.000 rubles, and the service has become much worse than in previous years!
My next visit I plan to stay in neighboring hotels, the prices of which are lower than 2 times, with a higher service.
