Who does the author recommend the hotel to?: For families with children; For recreation with friends, for young people
While memories are fresh, I share my impressions of the trip to the island of Djerba. This was our first experience of an all-inclusive holiday, so you can’t wait for comparisons with Egypt and Turkey : )
Tour operator - Oasis, accepts Express tours, flights with Nouvelair.
We flew from Kyiv in the evening, flew to Djerba without incident in 4 hours. The time difference with Kiev is 1 hour. It's almost midnight on the island. . . The host is on the spot, they escort us to the bus without delay and we start our trip to the hotels.
The transfer took about half an hour.
In the hotel, despite the late time, a restaurant was opened for the arriving group of tourists (11 people) and fed dinner. Settled within 5 minutes, no extra charge.
Number.
We got room 215, which is in the same wing as the fitness center.

First impressions are not bad, but the view from the room to the courtyard was a little disappointing. Not terrifying, of course, but looking at the pool would be nicer. The number was not changed.
The room itself is spacious, furniture and fixtures are relatively new. There is a TV (of the Russian channels, only the First), a refrigerator, a kettle, cups, coffee / tea, a hairdryer in the bathroom. By the way, I was very pleased with the separate bathroom. Central air conditioning, but in November it is no longer needed.
There is a safe in the closet, but without a key : ) Rent a safe for a week - 15 euros.
Reception.
At the reception you can:
- change the currency to local dinars (the exchange rate is approximately the same everywhere)
- take bail cards that are exchanged for beach towels. For us, the deposit was $70 for 2 cards.
- use the Internet. 5 dinars for 15 minutes of use... but the password is not changed, so we used it longer : )
Currency.
$1 = 1.320 Tunisian dinars
Dinar is divided into 1000 milims, so don't be surprised.
It is better to change currency for dinars in a hotel, and keep receipts. Reverse exchange is possible only at the airport upon presentation of a receipt.
Food-drink.
The hotel has a main restaurant with a terrace, 3 allegedly à la carte restaurants - Italian, Mexican, Chinese, a beach bar, 2 pool bars, a lobby bar, an American bar with imported drinks (of course for an additional fee) and probably more Well, I don't remember anymore.
The food in the main restaurant suited us just fine. Nothing fancy, but tasty and varied. I would especially like to note pastries and sweets, they brought real pleasure.
Drinks... Instant juices, cola-fanta-sprite (it even seemed that they were not diluted), mineral water. From alcohol, I definitely do not recommend even trying local beer. The rest is quite digestible. The main thing is not to take cocktails with juices, because instant juice is also poured there... bue
Of the restaurants visited Italian and Mexican. In Italian, everything was more edible, they ate spaghetti with shrimp and beef steak. Not bad. And in Mexican there was a sad, tasteless chicken. Didn't go to Chinese.
Beach.

Great! Clean, there was always enough space, the sea is beautiful. Actually, we spent most of the time on the beach, never swimming in the pools and not riding the slides : )
The animation was. In French. They said that in the season there is also in Russian. Mini disco looks really funny : )
Contingent.
Vacationers mostly speak French, in addition, there were Germans, Dutch, Russians and Ukrainians in the hotel... there was even a couple of girls from Norway.
The staff is fluent in French, English and German are also well known. In general, the staff is very friendly, not a hint of rudeness or prejudice.
Attractions.
Someone in previous reviews wrote that Djerba is the most boring place in Tunisia. This is partly true.
There is nowhere to go outside the hotel. The capital of the skeleton - Houmt Souk and the town of Midoun did not impress.
The only excursion we decided on was a sightseeing tour of the island.
So here are the attractions:
- Gelalla - a city of pottery, next to which there is a museum, it seems, of national culture (I don’t remember the exact name)
- Roman highway - 6.5 km from the island to the mainland
- Synagogue of La Griba, considered the oldest in the world. The stratification of cultures does its job - the appearance and filling bear little resemblance to a synagogue.
- Houmt Souk, in which the port and fortress of Gazi Mustafa.
Also attractions include the casino, the largest in Africa and the Hasdrubal Prestige hotel, which has 6 * (the only one in Africa).
Not much: )
They also offered an excursion for 1.5 days "to the Sahara". It sounded very interesting and tempting, but we did not want to spend 2 days out of 7 on an excursion. Next. . .
In addition to the "Sahara" excursions to the mainland were not found.
In general, we were satisfied with the rest.
Next stop - Egypt, Sharm El Sheikh, Shores Amphoras 4*
