Good afternoon.
Arrived today from Tunisia. Rested with the whole family with children. Lived in Mahdia Beach. We arrived in the evening and immediately got a portion of the negative. When booking, we indicated a two-room suite not lower than the second floor. At first they tried to settle us in a one-room suite with four beds on the ground floor, and after we refused - a two-room suite on the same ground floor. This issue should be said separately, but briefly. Crowded, damp, noisy, a lot of flies, a broken toilet bowl, old furniture. In the morning I was ready to spit on everything and go home to return the money from the operator. Operator - Anex Tour (about them later). But good weather, clear sea and a new administrator at the reception....After three or four approaches, the room was changed. Not the same as in the picture, the windows are on the technical area, but the plumbing is working. Who was quicker turned to the girl near the reception and she came up to decide for a special thank you.
Room cleaning. Everything is fine. Once they forgot to leave a tip and ended up without clean towels.

Information moment. Three foreigners and a little later an Arabic-speaking tourist approached the reception desk at the same time. The administrator leaves everyone and goes to solve the problems of his compatriot. The same thing was repeated later in a restaurant, water park, towels, in a bar, on the beach. Be prepared for the fact that you are a guest and the laws of hospitality are specific.
There are no special questions about the restaurant and bars. Everything is as usual. Drinks from vending machines are not allowed. Lots of flies. Plus - in the lobby bar brewed good coffee.
But, about food. We booked a restaurant on the Ala carte system. We chose the meat and fish menu. Came at 19.00. And it began. The table was for three (four of us). Another device was carried for 20 minutes. Wine and Cola were poured at 19.15, sandwiches with spicy adjika and salad with finely chopped tomatoes - 19.30, onion soup (burda) and a pie with potatoes (they call it cheburek) at 19.50. Then I did not have the patience and we went to dinner with everyone.
Animation. Don't think that you will be entertained. You can play volleyball twice a day, but for an hour. The balls for Bocha are rusty and the game will take fifteen blowjobs. Saw aerobics by the pool. In the evening, the whole center of life moves to the lobby closer to Wi-Fi. There is nothing more to do after 19.00.
The territory is quite green, but they start cleaning it up when everyone is already going to the beach.

Excursions. We ordered from the hotel guide from Anex Tour Natalia. Knows how to sell. The first was in the amphitheater El Jem. The guide told less than guidebooks write (he spent 25 minutes on everything). Then he gave an hour and a half of free time for acquaintance. We listened to the tour by clinging to a strange group and enjoyed it. The same was repeated in the mosaic museum. The last stop was an old garage where they try to weave silk scarves on ancient looms (the Turks at the carpet factory show the process starting with silkworm cultivation). As compensation, we received information about the country's economy and good local alcohol on the bus. My wife and children chose the second excursion to the city of Mahdia (because of a visit to a pirate cemetery, a lighthouse and a local market). I deliberately didn't go. As a result, the pirate cemetery was seen from afar, the lighthouse was shown from a distance of 1.5 kilometers, and they offered to take a taxi to the market. To my wife's remarks about the difference between the advertised tour and the fact, the hotel guide Natalia replied: "Yes. Everyone likes it. " By the way, she should be at the hotel every day at 14-14.30. We saw her only three times in a week (two on the first day).
And the last. The night before the departure, the youngest child began to vomit violently. It was not possible to solve the problem with the help of our first-aid kit. At the reception they refused to help me with dialing the local (Tunisian) number of the insurance agent. I had to replenish my account and conduct all negotiations from my mobile. Despite the promise of a Russian-speaking doctor, I had to order a taxi and take the child to the clinic (where all communication was in English). The child has a temperature of 39, he did not sleep at night. Check-out from the hotel is standard at 12.00.
He asked for a review to stay in the room until 16.00 or a temporary settlement until the same 16.00. As a result, they came to clean our room at 11.45, and before the transfer, the child was lying in the lobby on the sofas.
Total. If you plan to drink and swim - go to the Mahdia Beach Hotel. If you want to relax normally without nerves, then think three times.
