I was with my wife and child in May 2013.
Reason for choosing the hotel.
We are in Alanya for the second time and we really liked the city and therefore chose an inexpensive one, but closer to the center. According to this criterion, he came up perfectly. On days when we didn’t go on excursions, we got out into the city either on foot or by bus (a stop almost on the way from the hotel to the beach). Once I got out alone on a bike.

You can rent a bike in front of the hotel on the embankment from a machine, but I didn’t bother with tricky equipment and rented it from excursion merchants. Not far from the Pineapple Hotel (closer to the Banana Hotel bungalows), there is a playground near the embankment, the child liked it. This is not my first time in Turkey and I used to choose hotels where there are more stars with large territories with the hope that the child will be happy, but such hotels are mostly far from cities in small villages with one street. Yes, and the child quickly gets bored of the same thing. And after two days of such a no-slip hotel holiday "ala all inclusive", you start howling like a wolf and buying excursions from hotel guides for any money (and they have everything in three ways) just to get out.
Today I have become smarter, I take simpler hotels, but in the city, there are places to walk and things to see.
About the beach and the sea.
The beach is directly in front of the hotel with a rocky entrance, but there is a pier from which I flopped into the sea a couple of times.
This rocky entrance of the Pineapple hotel didn’t soar for me at all, it’s worth moving a little further and my wife and child calmly went into the sea. In general, I don’t understand those who complain about the bad beach of the hotel, in Alanya you can walk along the promenade and choose any beach you like. All the beaches are yours (only on this side of the peninsula there are 30 of them). Unlike 5-star hotels outside the city (where everything is fenced), here you are not tied to the hotel beach, the beaches are not fenced and you are welcome everywhere. Well, the water in the sea here is just class!
And when you go out on a yacht (took an excursion), I have never seen such blue anywhere (I was in Marmaris and Antalya at one time),
just great. And I also advise you in whatever hotel you get, take the time to visit Cleopatra Beach and lie down there on the sand (beauty).
Room and food.
The rooms are certainly not luxury, but most importantly everywhere was clean. The food is quite tolerable, a normal selection of fruits. Again, I am not one of those vacationers who runs from the sea or from the city with his tongue hanging out to be in time for an "all inclusive" lunch or dinner. A couple of times my family and I had dinner in different cafes near the fortress with a beautiful view of the sea and the illuminated fortress. It is better to spend money on such a dinner with such an open-air view in a local colorful restaurant or cafe than to overpay for an expensive 5-star hotel, albeit with delicious food, but in closed gilded haroms.
Entertainment

Here they write about animation at the hotel, but to be honest with my experience of traveling in Turkey, I don’t go to them. Everywhere is the same with slight variations. It is in a hotel outside the city that you are very dependent on them, and in Alanya there is something to entertain yourself with. Walks around the fortress, around the city, discos, bars and trips on excursions. For young people in the evening there is a paradise, discos and bars in the center near the Red Tower are open until late at night.
Excursions.
The hotel has a very pleasant guide and I almost succumbed to her charm and did not buy a yacht trip, but my wife pulled back in time : ). It’s no longer a secret and everyone knows that it’s not worth taking excursions from hotel guides, but unless you don’t peck money or if you’re too lazy to raise your ass and walk 20 meters from the hotel.
For the same excursions in agencies on the street, prices are several times lower !!!
And no matter what the hotel guides say about the quality, it is the same, because the same buses call for everyone and take everyone together to the same places with the same guides. And everyone is provided with the same services and no one has a clue how much and where you bought excursions. My wife and I love to see and see more, and I approached the choice of excursions thoroughly. I went to several agencies, but still bought from Osman. To my surprise, he did not sell me all the excursions in a row, and even dissuaded me from some. There are also many nuances in excursions, you can buy and spend a lot of time on arrivals at unnecessary
shops (such an unexpected "shopping") or you are tormented on a long journey and not everyone will tell about all this. Therefore, I advise you to plan excursions, especially if you approach the child wisely and here you can’t do without a good consultation. Osman laid out all the pros and cons for me with all the pitfalls and I did not regret my choice. I took a city tour, a yacht and a jeep safari, K. A. S. , and then Cappadocia for my family. Never regretted. I will not talk about the content of the excursions, otherwise it will not be interesting. By the way, I learned from him that somehow you can order from him via the Internet, but I didn’t fool around with this. It is important for me to talk to a person live.
General impression

Probably considering that we happily spent 70-80% of our vacation time on excursions and walks around the city, and therefore we probably didn’t notice any minor inconveniences about which people here write in reviews. The only thing I remember was that it was clean and the staff was friendly. Good playground nearby. I will definitely come to Alanya this summer and most likely I will choose Pineapple again, especially since this season Osman generally moved close to the hotel and said that it was opposite the 12th beach, and I have big plans for the excursion : ).
I was satisfied, but when I used to go to a 5-star hotel and sat there without getting out, then on the third day my wife was on her nerves over all sorts of trifles, either unsweetened, or unsalted, then she didn’t hang her towel, then the hook was not there.
So draw your own conclusions : )
