Twins Suit Hotel, Turkey, Alanya, Mahmutlar village
Rest time: from 14.09 to 28.09. 2008 (personally, my vacation was a success, there is something to remember, but it could be better... )

1. Twins Suit Hotel consists of two seven-story buildings (numbered from the 2nd floor), standing opposite each other. Between the buildings there is a small pool, there are no water slides. The hotel is located across the road from the sea, the first building is closer to the road, in the lobby there is a reception, safes, a TV room, a bar. Immediately behind the second building (slightly to the right) is “Majestik bar”, the main street of Mahmutlar (stretches parallel to the road along the sea), a little further away are the mountains. Meals are organized in the lower part of the second building by the pool. Each building has an elevator (decent and working).

The hotel resembles a family hotel, the inner territory is limited to the buildings and the pool. The hotel has 60 rooms in total, all two-room suites with two balconies. The second building of a later construction, respectively, there are differences between the numbers of the first and second buildings.
The contingent of tourists: Russia, Poland, a little from Ukraine.

2. Rules at the hotel: wearing a bracelet (color - blue), towels from the rooms to the beach and the pool is prohibited, eating in swimsuits is prohibited, guests from other hotels are allowed to drive only to the reception. The bar is open from 10 to 23, swimming in the pool is allowed from 9 to 18:30. Check-out time from the hotel: 12 noon, that is, you leave the room, put your things at the reception - and then continue to use the hotel services as usual, which, you see, is only a plus for the hotel. Safes at the reception, rent: $ 2 per day. Near the reception there is a stand with information about departures and coordinates of guides; on the eve of departure, information about the time of the flight and the bus to the airport is posted. I didn't have any problems with check-in and check-out.

The host was Odeon Tours, the guide was Victoria Khryapova. There were no problems, they worked well.
The only remark: I left the airport, there are a lot of people with signs of travel agencies, but mine is not. He began to loudly ask Odeon Tours - he showed his hand to the side. I went further - I saw at a distance the racks of travel agencies, Odeon Tours was to the side on the right.

3. Hotel staff: good, friendly, but they walk around in anything, only cooks have uniforms. They understand a little Russian: a bartender, one of the receptionists, and a worker with long hair. During the rest of the cases of theft from the rooms did not hear. I did not take the safe, I hid some of the money in the room, some in my clothes, documents with some of the money in the double bottom of the bag, I carried some of the money with me. I did not notice any traces that someone touched the bag and things.

Dedok on the beach - a separate issue - lives his own life. For example, after the flood, garbage on the beach was piled up and burned during the day, the smoke went to sunbathers. One of the evenings I swam all the way, I was alone on the beach, the grandfather at that time arranged sunbeds, my things lay on the sunbed.
Later, he discovered that several $1 bills were missing from his shorts pocket. I didn’t see how the grandfather touched things, but the banknotes could only disappear on the beach, because off the beach the shorts were always with me, the larger denominations in the pocket of the shorts were safe. Okay, 3-4$ is a trifle, we will attribute the grandfather to the tip.

4. Numbers. So, the first corus, the room: wooden doors and windows, dark furniture, hair dryer (in the toilet room). In the living room: sofa, kitchen with extractor hood and sink (no stove), refrigerator, table with telephone. The second building: doors and windows - plastic (double-glazed windows), furniture of light ocher color, no hair dryer. Living room: there is no kitchen, a tiny refrigerator (mini), two sofas, a table with a telephone.

Common in all rooms: floor - tiles, air conditioning, telephone, no TV - no TV (! ), two balconies, a plastic table and chairs. In the bedroom: there is air conditioning, two beds separated by a bedside table, a dressing table (mirror + table + chair).
The most interesting thing is that everything works: both the hood and the sink : ))

I got the impression that the residential building was converted into a hotel (living rooms with a kitchen), and the second building was introduced a little later. Rooms in building 1 are designed in strict colors, in building 2 they look more elegant and solemn. In building 2 in the living room sofas are more decent looking, newer ones. In the 1st building, the sofa is old, cloth, which has absorbed dust. I lived in building 1, I did not dare to sit on the sofa.

Weak point in the rooms - dim lighting and shower. The curtain and the shower tray do not protect the floor from moisture, after taking a shower, the floor in the toilet room is wet. If you walk in slippers - there will be dirt. I tried different ways (wiping is useless), I came up with the following: I left the slippers outside the door, drove the water from the floor to the drain with my foot, like a mop, rinsed my feet in the sink, then put on the flip flops.
), so I relaxed: the food is simple, but soundly cooked. There is no meat, only soy, several times they gave fish and pieces of chicken in stewed vegetables. The cook, by the way, perfectly cooked eggplants.

The plates seem to be washed by hand, dried outside on a table behind the second building, in another corner, the staff is drying T-shirts on the bushes.

A significant drawback is a terrible “coffee machine” (a tank of boiling water), coffee and cream must be poured from common cans of a shabby look, there are few cups, saucers and teaspoons, the cups are old, cracked and chipped. A vending machine with one type of juice - did not dare to drink, most likely, “yuppies”. What kind of water is in the tank and the machine is unknown, probably from the tap (i. e. chlorinated), respectively, you can’t drink. One of their vacationers poured boiling water from the tank into a jar, closed the lid and let it stand for 2 days. She says that when she opened it, the water smelled strongly of bleach.

In the bar, the glasses are plastic, battered.
The general manager, by the way, drinks beer from a branded glass goblet. From drinks: beer, white and red wine, rake, vodka, cola, fanta, sprite, cocktails: gin / vodka with tonic / sprite. Beer from kegs, low-grade. I bought a bottle of branded beer on the street ($ 2) - it was the same. Conclusion: It doesn't look like the beer is diluted, it's just how it is in Turkey. The wine is not so hot, with a Turkish flavor, red is better, but you can drink it. Strong drinks and lemonade are poured from a bottle, I have seen more than once how several bottles were opened - they don’t body. Wine is poured from a package of 10 liters (in the refrigerator under the counter) - as the bartender said, it was not possible to check this.

6. Sports, children, other. Of the sports equipment - only a tennis table. The children's corner is a reservation between building 1 and a neighboring house: a slide, two types of swings, a traumatic spring. A tiny children's pool is separated by a partition from the main one.
There are no TVs in the rooms, the entire TV room is one TV in the lobby of building 1 and a few stools. All channels are Turkish. There is no animation, on Sundays there is a show of leather products. Mirage-type music, Turkish songs are heard in the pool bar. By the way, you can bring a CD with your favorite songs to the hotel with you.

7. Housekeeping. The main motto is not clean where they clean, but where they don't litter! The lobby and stairs of the hotel are clean and tidy, but a piece of paper from a candy dropped by someone on the stairs of the 2nd floor remained there for 2 weeks. All the rest (2 weeks) lay in the room at the foot of the sofa the remains of a children's designer (yellow) - an indicator of the cleaning of the room, it was impossible not to notice them. I did not notice the change of linen and towels, I did not leave any special marks. The cleaning interval is about once every 3-4 days. What was cleaned in the room could be determined by the folded bedspread on the bed, and the garbage taken out.
I wiped the dust from the countertop in the kitchen, from the bedside tables, table and chairs myself. Therefore, food waste (melon peels, etc. ) I recommend throwing it into a separate bag and storing it in the refrigerator, there is a trash can at the exit from the hotel - throw it there.

The tactic of the cleaning lady is this: to watch when you are in the room, and show up off topic so that she is asked to come tomorrow, and she will come again in 3-4 days. It was not only me, many people talked about it. The first time the cleaner came when I had a girl in my room, of course, the cleaner asked to come tomorrow. The cleaner came 3 days later...

Another time I returned from the market, decomposed on the balcony: wine, figs, grapes ...The cleaning lady showed up - okay, I think I'll do an experiment: wine and fruit in the refrigerator, left $ 2 on the table with the phone - do the cleaning. When I returned, I took the dollars, folded the bedspread like a fan, and the children's designer near the sofa remained uncleaned. Removed, so bad.
8. Sea. The transition to the sea is carried out through a dirty smelly (sewer leaks) tunnel. Therefore, many walked across the road (traffic is quite heavy). On the beach: there are no changing cabins, a shower - a pipe with cold water, plastic sunbeds, mattresses and umbrellas for free. There are no beach towels. Approximately 30% of the mattresses are shabby.

The coast itself is sandy, the sand is of a dirty grayish color, which is due to the origin of sand from stone slabs, which are the soles of the mountains. In the water there are solid plates, with potholes, covered with small slippery algae. Several sections have been cleared for easy entry into the water, the best one is opposite the Club Hotel Ulaslar tunnel (stand with your back to the sea and go right). A convenient entrance to the sea is easy to find in the crowd of people.

Until September 19, the sea was clean and calm. The rainy season began on the 19th, there were waves on the sea, the water was dirty.
For those who appreciate the quality of service and like to eat a lot of variety, the hotel is definitely not suitable. With small children, it is better to find a hotel with water slides for children, and there will be nothing to feed the child. If you want to bring a girl and make a positive impression on her, look for another hotel. A lonely young man may not find a mate, let me remind you: guests from other hotels cannot be taken further than the reception - look for another hotel (a girl in Turkey will find a partner everywhere and always). But for a youth company, the hotel is suitable: spacious rooms, and “Majestik bar” is nearby. I think that if you go to Alanya for a week, then there is no point in overpaying for a 4 * hotel - the sea is the same everywhere with stone slabs (! ), Twins Suit will do. Take a last-minute ticket - pay attention to Twins Suit, at least from this description you will know what kind of hotel you are taking.

What to take with you: soap, a clothesline, a couple of clothespins, a kettle, tea, a band-aid and cologne (to lubricate abrasions), a mosquito fumigator, a small rag. Buy water, a mug, coffee and a beach towel on the spot.

I recommend hotel owners to buy a normal coffee machine, dishwasher, dish drying cabinet, satellite dish, and finally tune the only TV to European channels. A television is only needed to watch the news while on vacation.

10. Other remarks. Water in Turkey is highly chlorinated, drinking and brushing your teeth is not recommended. You buy water in Bim supermarkets or other stores. Bargaining is possible everywhere (except "Bima" and stores with the specified price tags). Alcohol in Turkey is expensive: wine from $7-10 per bottle and more, their rake vodka - from $10-15 per fry 0.33. There is no alcohol in “Bime”, but there is excellent yogurt in large 0.5-1 liter buckets, I recommend trying it.
Decent inexpensive wine "Harman" - wine of the European level. Turkish coffee in cafes: $ 5 for two.

The main landmark of the main street of Mahmutlar is the clock (stele with a clock at the crossroads). Exit the hotel to the left to the tunnel, left again, go along the fence, after the “Majestik bar” turn right and scratch along the main street to the intersection with the clock, turn left. Here the main street is crossed by the greenest street of Mahmutlar. Walk along it on the right side of 20 meters, on the right there will be a shop where there is Harman wine. Walk a little further - there will be a Bim store. If you want to find, you will find.

Behind the clock on Saturdays there is a market where you can buy fruits, souvenirs, clothes. For souvenirs and clothes, the price is overpriced, be sure to bargain: immediately name the price at least half as much.
Excursions in street agencies are cheaper than with a guide, but be sure to check: the presence of a Russian-speaking guide for the tour and what is included in the price of the tour (especially Pamukkale), and then compare the tours of the guide and street agencies. It is better to go to the Turkish bath right away (until you get tanned and burned - the tan will lie better).

I wish you good luck and have a nice holiday!
