M. C ARANCIA RESORT 5*
Day 1.20 May 2013.
Departure from St. Petersburg at 7:00 by Ural Airlines. Airbus plane (can't remember the number). The flight went smoothly. I especially liked the quality of the air, there were no hints of stuffiness. The chicken was delicious, but the pork was terribly dry.
Taz tour met at the airport with several buses. In our direction, people were in 4 different hotels, all hotels are nearby. Our hotel is second in line. The bus is small (about 25 seats), old, we drove slowly in 2 steps. 40 minutes drive, then stop for 15 minutes at a baited bus stop. On sale are shawarma, ice cream, travel snacks, water, beach accessories at reasonable prices: 1.5 liter water - $ 2, payphone card for 8TL (Turkish lira) - $ 12. Then about an hour drive to the hotel.

The people collected such an amount of food on plates that pasta hung on one side, and sausage fell on the floor on the other. It's a shame, comrades: -( In Arancia, the same Russians behaved much more decently. In general, the impression was that there were about 90 Russians in both Park and Arancia. Subsequently, this figure was confirmed at the reception in Arancia: Russians from 80 to 90 %, and this is the general picture for Alanya.
According to a hotel employee, tourists from other countries prefer Kemer and Belek. I don't know how true this is.
Day 2

Apparently, for this reason, it was not possible to promote the guide to information about cotton shops in Konakli themselves, although the day before he suggested the way to the wonderful network supermarket A101 (like our Pyaterochka, the minimum size), where you can buy basic food. 1.5 l. water 0.40TL, 1L. fresh milk 2.50TL, a liter of pasteurized milk 1.60TL. On the way back from the supermarket, I took local money from an ATM for small purchases. The ATM pleased with the knowledge of the Russian language. Took it off. Credit cards are accepted everywhere here. I bought a payphone card (with a chip) for 4 lira for 4 lira in a specialized shop on the market street. There are many payphones in the city. For a minute of conversation with Peter's landline phone, 0.16TL was withdrawn from the card (2 times 0.08 each). There are the usual water activities: banana, parachute, jet ski, water skiing. The pools have slides for children and adults.
In the evening on the playground I found a small number of midges, and in the room I saw the first mosquito (on the 6th floor). We no longer leave open balconies in the evenings, relying on air conditioning. The air conditioner is central, so at the minimum fan speed it is almost silent. True, it was not possible to achieve from him a temperature of less than 25 degrees.
On the last day of our stay, we found out that all this time the air conditioners did not work at all on the 6th and 7th floors. The fan was spinning, but there was no cooling. “The problem is being solved, ” the hotel staff said, but it is not known when it will be solved. Another reason to sleep with the windows closed is a disco until one in the morning. Moreover, discos are here from all sides, not only from the sea. Fortunately, double-glazed windows muffle sound well. Free wi-fi was not completely free. 100MB for the rest (not for the day, but for the whole time) for free, more than that - 2 or 3 euros per hour. The guide said that they did so just a couple of days ago. The Internet itself works well, both at the reception and in the rooms. In the neighboring hotels of the M. C system - Mahberi (4 minutes walk) and Park (7 minutes walk) - the Internet at the reception is free, but in the evenings the speed leaves much to be desired. By the way, guests from Arancia, Mahberi and Park can enter any hotels of the M. C system, as the guide said, after 23 hours, but everyone goes at any time.
Accordingly, at any time you can use the free wi-fi internet in the lobby. Restaurants are not allowed.
I went to the fitness center so as not to take a long break from classes. The room is modest but has everything you need. This time, only the incline bench was missing. At the last training session, I watched how an enterprising German built himself an inclined bench from a sunbed near the pool. You can visit the hall only in sportswear. T-shirt and shorts are fine, but beach slippers are not allowed. I vaguely guess that the original idea of sportswear is related to safety on the treadmill, but why bench shoes, I just don’t understand. I worked in braids. Next to the fitness room there is a spa with a free sauna (open twice a day for two hours), but there was no time for it. There is also a paid massage.
Day 4
After lunch I went to A101 for milk and kefir.
The same guide suggested that 500 meters after the A101 there is a larger supermarket - MiGROS. Local Kefir turned out to be expensive, about 5TL per liter, I bought only a liter to sample. It tastes more like curdled milk. In addition to it, I bought a couple of types of AYRAN, which costs 2 times cheaper than kefir. I hope the stomach will accept the unfamiliar for him infidel food : -)
The younger one was “handed over” to the kids club from 14:30 to 17:00. There are several animators, students from Russia. There are a lot of children in the hotel, there were about 20 children in the club.
Day 5
First cloudy day. It even rained, which is unconventional for this time of year.
Due to bad weather, hot water ran out in the evening, which here in the summer, as you know, is heated by the energy of the sun. On the roofs of houses there are storage tanks with water connected to radiators inclined towards the sun. The temperature was enough for a quick wash, but for the children they still heated water on the stove.
Conclusion: you should always take at least a small boiler with you to solve force majeure situations. The hotel management let us down and did not switch to an alternative method of water heating in time. This is a minus. On the occasion of bad weather, we went on a free Teztur excursion to a textile store in Alanya. Surprisingly, there were no usual mantras “only we have everything real, in other stores there are fakes. ” They briefly told where what is sold, how you can pay, including the possibility of paying later at the hotel if there is not enough money : -) Bought on trifles. Bed linens were not taken. It seemed to me too expensive. 2-bed satin deluxe linen (I don’t remember the manufacturer) 120-130 dollars. They also sell local sweets by weight for $14 per kilo. We will buy sweets in MiGROS for 14TL per kilo. Today we finally learned what kind of bird lives above us on the roof. A couple of times we saw her flying in the dark from our roof to the next block. A pen was found the day before.
And today they watched her from the balcony, it turned out to be an owl. Filmed on camera.
In the evening, someone walked on the roof, apparently, they switched hot water to winter mode, and late in the evening hot water, nevertheless, appeared.
Day 6
In the morning the wind was light, but the waves were extremely large. A red flag hung on the beach - no swimming - which is usually taken to mean "swim at your own risk". In the coastal zone, of course, there is no risk, and many children frolicked, catching the rolling waves. He sailed a little further from the shore, where the waves did not roll, but simply rose and fell. With one of the waves, he hit his foot on a stone sticking out at the bottom, the wound even had to be sealed with BF-6. Conclusion: never ride the waves in an unfamiliar place.
The second time was in the fitness room. It was not possible to squat with a barbell due to the lack of a high rack for the barbell. The leg press machine also does not work, the cable needs to be replaced.
I had to squat on one leg. The calves also had to be pumped in turn from dumbbells on the shoulder.
Day 7
After breakfast, the four of us went shopping in the central part of Konaklov. To begin with, we went to Hasbul, where we have not been yet. We bought as a gift wonderful sets of sweets at a price of 7 to 9 TL, sweets by weight at a price of 13 to 25 TL per kg. , sets of spices with an enclosed mill of 15 TL, essences of oils produced by Gebece Bitkisel 20ml. (jojoba, lemon balm, eucalyptus, lavender) at a price of 4 to 5 TL. Then in Migros T-shirts.

An unknown fruit appeared on the fruit shelves, similar to a green plum, but tasting like a green apple. There was a whole wall of watermelon carvings. In the evening there was a performance, but we did not go to it, because we go to bed early.
Day 9
The big wave is already the fourth day. Starts to get bored. In the morning, the youngest went to the kids club again. Now we let go on parole that we will do something useful, and not watch TV. Today we drew something.
After they went to the sea, they collected multi-colored stones. Fortunately, you won’t have to take all this “good” home, because it’s better not to try to take stones out of Turkey. Now some American faces up to 12 years in prison for trying to take out of Turkey a piece of marble and part of a brick, which turned out to be ancient. By the way, as soon as we arrived in Turkey, we were caught here by the news that those people, through whose fault five Russian tourists were poisoned to death by burning alcohol, were given 90 (ninety) years in prison. True, we still don’t drink alcohol, preferring tea and water, but this news demonstrates that the Turkish authorities care about their tourism industry. Even if not all or not those were imprisoned, it will be disrespectful to others.
The hotel has four very smart elevators. Each 1000 kg. carrying capacity. Elevators work in pairs, distributing the flow of tourists over the floors with maximum efficiency.
Yesterday one of those elevators broke down and people sat in it for about 15 minutes. The next day, the elevator was repaired, it worked until lunch and got up again until evening. The remaining days of rest worked all four elevators, but this one periodically glitched - sometimes the doors did not open, they had to help them a little. I also encountered another wonderful glitch a couple of times. We are going from the 6th floor down to the level of the restaurant. Before reaching one floor to the restaurant, in the lobby, the elevator stops, a lot of people come in, everyone presses their floor. Usually the elevator worked out the first command to the end, in our case it had to get to the restaurant, and only then only go up. But, when the number of burning buttons exceeded four, all the buttons went out, the elevator did not respond to commands for several seconds (as if it was rebooting). Then the doors closed, and the elevator went to the 6th floor, from where it was called by a button outside. I had to circle around again.
At the same time, there are no “stop” or “cancel” buttons in the elevator. During my vacation, I hit it twice. One of the tourists said that this was due to overload. Most likely, it is.
Day 10
The sea is calmer today. After lunch, I took a ride on a jet ski with the younger one. 40 euros for two for 13 minutes. The child has a lot of impressions. In the evening, with fins and a mask, I swam along the perimeter of our territory. Due to the waves, the water was cloudy, visibility was about 1.5 meters. The bottom is beautiful in some places, with fine sand, in some places large stones stick out. In the middle of a dead reef, I saw a couple of fish.
Day 11
In the morning almost complete calm. After lunch, we first went to the sea, but then the wind caught up with the waves, and spent the rest of the day by the pool. In the morning they left a $5 tip in the room, when they returned, they found a swan on one bed, and a heart with flower petals on the other. The cleaning lady changed this week, and this immediately affected the service. The new one was kinder and more caring.
And towels, and everything else now changed in due time, even with a margin.
Day 12
Big waves again. I found out the prices for water skiing and skateboarding. $40 for 4 km. way (about 10 minutes of travel). 3 attempts are given to get out of the water, if it didn’t work out - goodbye. So for beginners it is better to take the first lesson elsewhere. After dinner, we passed by the tennis table, it turned out to be, finally, unoccupied. They never caught this moment on purpose, but when it happened to pass by, most often it was busy. The supplied rackets are almost completely shabby, the ball is asymmetrical, so most people play with their own rackets and balls. We played a little with these semi-peeled pieces of wood, remembered our youth : -) There is also a hall with slot machines, including football (where a number of players are on one handle), air hockey, PlayStation, and even bowling. All this economy, except for the ping-pong mentioned at the beginning, is paid.
In the evening we went to a children's disco from 20:45 to 21:30. There were about 50 children, they barely fit on the stage. Among the songs was the famous aram-zam-zam, although the audio recording was of terrible quality. As a hit of the season at the very end - gangman style. Didn't think it would be suitable for a kids disco.
Day 13
The waves are quite big again. Somewhere hung a red-yellow, somewhere red flag. Partly cloudy appeared in the evening.
A little more about the room. As I said, a 2-room suite, converted from two 1-room suites, on the 6th floor in the attic. Each room has access to its own balcony overlooking the sea. Central air conditioning, each room has its own. In the 1st mode, it works almost silently. But there is a big problem with him - from time to time an unpleasant smell comes from the air conditioner, similar to burnt cakes. By the way, I don't know why. Apparently, the air conditioning system is connected to the ventilation system.
This problem is present in several guests with whom we spoke, and in different parts of the hotel. The same smell comes from a place where local Turkish flatbreads are cooked in the fresh air next to the beach.
Each room has a Vestel LCD TV with a diagonal of about 24 inches. In one of them they did not find the 1st Russian channel (it was on the other TV). After reconfiguring all channels, it turned out that the list of channels is 2 more than indicated in the information sheet. Channels were added to the grid, but they did not bother to reconfigure the TVs. There are only 4 Russian channels: Russia24.1st, RBC and Planet RTR. In addition to Turkish, there are English, German, Polish channels. Each room has 2 single beds pushed together.
A set of fizzy drinks 4x0.2 l is loaded into the refrigerator at the entrance. (not replenished) and 4 bottles of 0.5l. drinking water. Every day add 2 bottles of 0.5 water. There was no kettle promised on the teztur website.
They say this is due to tightening the screws on indoor tea parties so as not to breed ants. But the staff turns a blind eye to the takeaway of food to the rooms. Apparently, they take into account that many have a rest with small children, who sometimes sleep just at lunch time, and they have to be fed at odd hours. Once we even met two hotel employees in the elevator, loaded with trays of food for a sick tourist who was lying in bed in the room.
Shared bathroom with bathtub, hair dryer, mirror, telephone (parallel to the one on the bedside table), in case you feel unwell in the restroom and need to call for help. But there is no list of emergency numbers nearby, so you will die anyway : -)
Safe $2 per day. We didn't have any valuables with us, so we didn't use them. The camera, camera and laptop were locked in a suitcase.

By the way, about food. Compared to the hotels we've been to in Egypt, salads are mostly edible. At least my sensitive stomach handled it. It was very rare to find salads that were not quite fresh. There are also fresh chopped vegetables, herbs, gravies and seasonings to make your own salads. Watermelon every day.
Fruits include apples, oranges, apricots, sometimes peaches, green plums. Sometimes melons. Meat 3-4 types (sometimes stewed, grilled, fried). The big wave is already the fourth day. Starts to get bored. In the morning, the youngest went to the kids club again. Now we let go on parole that we will do something useful, and not watch TV. Today we drew something.
After they went to the sea, they collected multi-colored stones. Fortunately, you won’t have to take all this “good” home, because it’s better not to try to take stones out of Turkey. By the way, as soon as we arrived in Turkey, we were caught here by the news that those people, through whose fault five Russian tourists were poisoned to death by burning alcohol, were given 90 (ninety) years in prison. True, we still don’t drink alcohol, preferring tea and water, but this news demonstrates that the Turkish authorities care about their tourism industry. Then the doors closed, and the elevator went to the 6th floor, from where it was called by a button outside. I had to circle around again.

The sea is calmer today. After lunch, I took a ride on a jet ski with the younger one. 40 euros for two for 13 minutes. The child has a lot of impressions. In the morning almost complete calm. After lunch, we first went to the sea, but then the wind caught up with the waves, and spent the rest of the day by the pool. We played a little with these semi-peeled pieces of wood, remembered our youth : -) There is also a hall with slot machines, including football (where a number of players are on one handle), air hockey, PlayStation, and even bowling. All this economy, except for the ping-pong mentioned at the beginning, is paid.
In the evening we went to a children's disco from 20:45 to 21:30. There were about 50 children, they barely fit on the stage. Among the songs was the famous aram-zam-zam, although the audio recording was of terrible quality. As a hit of the season at the very end - gangman style. Didn't think it would be suitable for a kids disco.

But there is a big problem with him - from time to time an unpleasant smell comes from the air conditioner, similar to burnt cakes. By the way, I don't know why. Apparently, the air conditioning system is connected to the ventilation system.
This problem is present in several guests with whom we spoke, and in different parts of the hotel. The same smell comes from a place where local Turkish flatbreads are cooked in the fresh air next to the beach.
Each room has a Vestel LCD TV with a diagonal of about 24 inches. In one of them they did not find the 1st Russian channel (it was on the other TV). After reconfiguring all channels, it turned out that the list of channels is 2 more than indicated in the information sheet. Channels were added to the grid, but they did not bother to reconfigure the TVs. There are only 4 Russian channels: Russia24.1st, RBC and Planet RTR.
