Going on vacation, chose Turkey. Finance was the main criterion. Hotel Turtash approached - for 10 days in July 2011 for four (2 adults and 2 children 3 and 7 years old) they gave 68 thousand. The tour operator - Anekstur - was not impressed at all, it was lucky that there were no precedents for contacting guides on the spot. The guides were simply not there EVER. Even when we left, only the hotel staff from the reception saw us off. And the company UTair (air flight) is generally a separate issue. 2 days before departure, my daughter was covered with a wave - the trouble turned into otitis media. Departure from 21.30 was postponed to 23.00 - when they boarded the plane, my daughter's temperature jumped, there were NO BLANKS, NO PILLOWS on board - the concept of the airline. As a result, my daughter crouched on my lap, and my husband and friend, who was resting with us, flew naked to Moscow - I covered my daughter with their T-shirts.
As for the hotel - everything is as expected. We arrived around 7 am. From the airport to go almost 2 hours (under the beer imperceptibly, and the children had time to sleep). Knowing about the check-in after dinner, we took bathing suits with us in hand luggage, but at the reception after 10 minutes, we were offered a "superior" room with a surcharge (50 dallars), but with immediate check-in - we agreed. The room is not new, the refrigerator barely cooled, but the balcony overlooked the sea (i. e. the main pool, and the sea is far away) and the promised bunk bed was also there. The front door overlooked the road, EVERYTHING was heard, but it didn’t bother us - we sleep soundly. The air conditioner worked properly (deposit $20 per remote), cleaned every day (left $1 each, there were hearts and swans from bedspreads). I checked it once - the children were eating pistachios, the shell was all over the floor, I saw it removed, I didn’t clean it from under the beds in principle - I checked it the next day - it’s clean! In the bathroom - shower, hair dryer, TumBum, soap, towels, shampoos took their own. The safe was taken one for two rooms (about 20 dollars for 10 days). THERE ARE NO SHELVES IN THE CABINETS!! ! But we managed - that's not the main thing!
To the sea in the junction to go 5 minutes. Beach - sand + pebbles, there was always enough space. There is no beer at the beach bar - we went to the pool bar (not stressful), but on the beach at lunchtime there were either spaghetti with sauce and hamburgers, then "shawarma" in rolls, then stewed vegetables - even my children - picky eaters - ate the only way! In the main restaurant we had breakfast (eggs, vegetables, bread, breakfast cereals, every other day - scrambled eggs, pancakes), dinner (vegetables, beef, chicken, pasta, dessert) - we were not hungry. Opposite the pool bar, every day a local khanum sits in a tent - fries flat cakes, each time sweet and with some kind of filling - either cheese, or cheese with chili, or chicken with spices. The khanum does not ask for money, but there is a dish next to her - they say, as much as they can. Maybe someone didn’t pay, but ate - I hope he still enjoyed it, but I haven’t seen such. My children took 3-4 different cakes for 1-2 dollars - and a snack before dinner was provided! Very tasty, no worse than my grandmother's pies! Every Saturday - Turkish night (we got two) - local merchants come with tents, but they are expensive. Every evening at the pool bar, locals sell popcorn and boiled corn for 1 euro - my children hung out every evening. ANIMATION EVERY EVENING IS THE SAME, but the children were delighted!! ! "Piripikyo", "piripakyo" "fanta", "cola", "Michael Jackson" - whoever was, will understand me. We drink wine, the children are on animation - what else do you need??!

We did not agree to a single excursion from the guides - they immediately forgot about us, as about the view. People, I advise - on the beach there is a Parasaling point, the main one is Dima (Armenian) - contact him. With him we went on a boat to Alanya - we saw mountain goats, fish, turtles, the house in which Ataturk was born, the yachts of Russian oligarchs, and on the way back everyone was allowed to steer the boat. We flew with our daughters by parachute - there are no words, only interjections !!!
Regarding shopping - leave the hotel, 500 meters to the right, across the road - and hello Konakli village! A sea of tents, shops, cafes, and on Wednesdays the bazaar comes - no dubious excursions for "goods" from guides are needed !!!
In general, we got everything we wanted from the rest, in the expected conditions and at a budget option. We liked!! !
