The idea to go on vacation was spontaneous, usually we buy tours at least 3 months in advance, this time we took a month before departure.
We were in Turkey more than once, my wife first considered Greece or Cyprus, but Turkish hotels pretty spoiled us with the level of service, the status of hotels and the surrounding area, so we realized that our usual vacation in Greece or Cyprus would cost 2 times more, we decided that it's not worth it and according to tradition we went to Turkey.

We have already rested in the area of Alanya and Side, but, having heard enough from the familiar rave reviews about Bodrum and Marmaris, we decided that this time we would go there.
The hotel was chosen for a long time, since there were three of us (my wife and I and my mother), we considered hotels with a Family room, that is, with two isolated rooms.

We opted for the Bodrum HolidayResort & Spa hotel, five stars, all inclusive, and, not least, a large well-groomed area, but more on that later.

The hotel was built in 1995, the last renovation in 2017.
The total area of the hotel is 12.000 sq. m. Distance to Bodrum 4.5 km, to the airport 37 km.

Despite the short distance, in the end the road took almost 2 hours, as we were driven in circles to take tourists to other hotels. We had a daytime flight, we landed at 18:50, while we got our luggage, loaded onto the bus and drove to the hotel. As a result, we were late for dinner, which was very disappointing, since the hotel does not have a 24-hour cafe, and we had to wait for evening soup at 00:00, it’s good that there is a store on site where we bought cookies and a couple of chocolates. We were seated quickly and our room was ready. Since the territory of the hotel is huge and our room was located not in the main building, but in a three-story house (club room), we were escorted by a bellboy, without him we would have been looking for our room for a very long time.

We did not like the room, it had two rooms, but one of them was a walk-through, as a result, there was no sense in these two rooms.
The room itself is made in the Greek style: white walls, blue furniture. The quality of the furniture, of course, is not very good, it is just painted with paint, the bed is comfortable, but there were no normal blankets, only thin cotton bedspreads, in my opinion, it is not very comfortable to sleep under them.

The toilet and bathroom are adjacent, the plumbing is normal, not luxury, of course, but everything works, the only thing is that water was flowing very strongly from under the shower cabin, they already tried to close the door well and not pour water in that direction, it’s useless.

Without thinking twice, we went to the reception and asked to be moved to a room with isolated rooms, to which the administrator said that in the morning Tanya (a Russian-speaking girl, an employee of the hotel) would solve all the issues. By the way, a special thanks to her. We were not moved immediately, but after 2 days, in a three-room suite, 2 rooms were isolated, and one was a walk-through, we used it as a living room.
The resettlement was absolutely free, but we decided to thank Tanya and gave her a tip. This room was very low, practically on the ground, so our room smelled very strongly of dampness, they turned on the air conditioner for heating to dry the room.

On the very first day, we went swimming at night in the pool, where we met guys from Russia, although in the midst of the swim, a hotel worker ran out and politely asked us to leave. It is forbidden to swim at night, of course, we knew this, but we really wanted to swim on the first day)
By the way, these guys and I spent the whole vacation, they lived in the main building and allowed me to go into their room and shoot a video.

I liked their room a lot better, it didn't smell damp, the furniture looked more presentable and there were normal blankets on the bed.
But we did not dare to change the number a second time)
Evening animation at the hotel did not impress, the program is like in amateur circles, but we don’t really have anything to compare with, since animation is not our topic at all, we went there only because of acquaintances. There are Russian animators and a kids club, we can’t say anything about its work, since we don’t have children.
After the animation, a disco began, which was attended by many women over 40, originally from Bulgaria, so the music matched). But basically it was fun.
Next to the disco there is a bar and a toilet.

There are a lot of Russians in the hotel, probably 23 hotels, as well as a lot of Germans, Bulgarians, Poles, there was even a family from Australia, which, frankly, was very surprising.

The territory of the hotel is very large, which, in my opinion, is cool, there is where to walk,
several pools, bars, pontoons and a sandy beach.

There were not always enough sun loungers on the beach, since it is small, but there were always places on the pontoons and by the pools.

By the way, the beach has the status of a blue flag.
The sand is imported, it is leveled with a rake, cleaned and collected all the garbage that was brought during the night. The water is clear, since the coast is rocky, it is comfortable to enter the water only from the sandy beach, from the pontoons, descend the stairs immediately to the depth.

In early October, the water is already quite cool in the morning, about 23 degrees, but by lunchtime it has become comfortable. Along the entire coastline there are: changing rooms, toilets, showers, a bar and a cafe. You don’t have to go for lunch, the menu, of course, is not as varied as in a restaurant, but you can have a bite to eat.

The restaurant in the hotel deserves special attention, as it is located on a hill and the view of the sea is simply incredible.
The menu is not very diverse, but loses compared to other hotels in Turkey.
The choice of hot dishes is not so big, but in principle you can find something for yourself.
In the morning they prepare pancakes, scrambled eggs, as well as a lot of fruits, vegetables, salads, sausages and cheese.
In the afternoon, pizza, tortillas, meat dishes, at lunch, as a rule, there is not much of everything, so sometimes there is a paucity of choice.
In the evening, there is usually a lot of food, fish or chicken are cooked on the grill, there are also flatbreads and pizza.
Drinks at the hotel are standard, as in any middle five, local alcohol, cola, fanta, instant juices.
Lots of fruits: apples, nectarines, pears, grapes, oranges, plums and peaches.

The hotel restaurant A la Carte turned out to be paid, 5 euros, usually it's free.
To be honest, it's not even worth the money.

The water park is small with only 5 slides. The seams are not very high quality, you feel every joint on your back, the pool is shallow. For children, the water park is interesting, but for adults, of course, boring.
There is also a cafe nearby where you can grab a bite to eat.

Of course there is a hammam and a sauna (all for free). I want to note that there is enough space there! After steaming up, you can relax on comfortable sunbeds. For sports in this hotel, of course, expanse, a huge number of sports grounds: football, volleyball and basketball.

The lobby at the hotel is very small, so in the evening there were no empty seats and only it has WiFi, but it's free and it always worked!

Cleaning at the hotel is good, the territory is clean, sunbeds are washed every evening. We noticed that there is a whole team of gardeners working there! The staff is friendly.

The guide from the tour operator Coral told about the sights, we took a sightseeing tour for $ 15 for mom and for us - a quad bike ride for $ 45.
As it turned out later, Pegasus sold the same excursions a little cheaper.
Mom liked everything, they drove around the city of Bodrum, then there was a boat trip on a pirate ship with dinner.
I didn't really like the ATVs, because they were old, the route was boring, the road to them was much more interesting than the trip itself.
We drove through a traditional Turkish village, then through the mountains.

And now briefly about how we visited 5 sights of Bodrum on our own:
The road to Bodrum takes 15-20 minutes, a bus ride will cost 4 liras per person.
Our first stop was at the Mausoleum, the entrance cost 14 lire per person and payment is only in cash.
Then we went to the amphitheater, admission is free.
After we went to the gates of Myndos.
Then we went to the windmills, the path is not close, also uphill. The mills are not very well preserved, but they offer stunning views of Bodrum and the surrounding area.
And we completed our journey at the fortress of St. Peter, since it was under restoration, we did not buy a ticket.
The cost is 48 lire per person.
Timed out at five o'clock.

To summarize: in general, we liked the rest and the hotel, with the exception of the rooms. Nature and the sea, of course, in Bodrum are simply amazing, not to be compared with Alanya and Side.
