We drove with apprehension because of the season. Most hotels in Turkey are already closed for October. Therefore, I had to choose from what was. But, the fears were in vain. A bunch of things taken with them were not needed at all even in the evening.
Now directly about the hotel. The hotel itself is quite nice and big. But it is quite far from Bodrum itself - not even in Turgutreis, but even further. If you want to walk around Bodrum (the most beautiful place) - it's quite inconvenient. It is difficult to get by public transport with transfers - first to Turgutreis, and then to Bodrum, especially in the evening it is stressful, the price will cost about 8 lira. The hotel has its own bus to Bodrum, but it costs 10 euros per person and will only go if there are 6 people.
HOTEL. We were lucky with the settlement - a lot of people just left and we were immediately settled in the main building, "palase", as they say there. Without any surcharges, with a view of the sea and in general, the rooms in the main building are quite convenient in terms of location - everything is within easy reach. Although, they were also worried, the room was paid for "mindos" - and this, as I understand it, is up to the choice of the hotel - where they will be accommodated. Although the bungalow, especially in the first two lines (above - it's too far to go, or wait for the "train") is a pretty good option. As we later realized, we were just lucky with the person who worked at the reception that day - such the oldest (by age) gray-haired man (unfortunately, I don’t remember his name). He was the only one you could contact, friendly and diligent. It quickly became clear that all the other receptionists are not so pleasant and helpful. The only girl at the reception was especially outraged by her impudent superficial attitude. The reasons are very simple - this hotel is purely for the ITALIANS, everything is there for them and nothing else, they practically do not pay attention to everyone else and make it clear that you are not very welcome here, especially Russian speakers. There are a few Germans and Poles. Don't expect someone to listen to you in Russian. If you can speak tolerably in English (which we could), then they will still listen to you, perhaps they will do something (but not a fact) . . They won’t even listen to you in Russian. So all the time and practiced in English - there are no options. If this is difficult for you, there is NOTHING to do there.
After Egypt, where absolutely every employee, regardless of employment, rushed to you with a smile, greeted you and tried to help - this was a striking and unpleasant difference. But we decided that it wouldn’t spoil our vacation anyway, so we didn’t really cycle. Although the whole holiday I personally was alarmed by the unfriendly staff, marching past you with an indifferent look, and magically changing in the face at the sight of the Italians.
The room is good, clean, spacious, comfortable, although everything is already worn out. But there is always hot water, the air conditioner works properly, if you open shit, it automatically turns off. Towels are changed every day, they don't spare any "soapy-ryl" bottles either. But, they are removed, unfortunately only for the sake of appearance. It's hard to call it cleaning. Leaving "baksheesh" is useless - nothing will change, they checked. I deliberately crumpled the napkin and threw it into the corner in plain sight - do not believe it, it lay all the time in its place ! ! This napkin has already been just like a joke.
FOOD AND RESTAURANT: I want to VERY praise! ! Firstly, the restaurant staff is very different from everything else in the hotel. Attentive, careful, polite and helpful. The food is delicious, varied, for all tastes. Many vegetable dishes and snacks, there is always something new, fruits and sweets are in abundance. Meat dishes are somewhat of the same type, but with an abundance of everything else, this is not very noticeable. Diet food (for those who need it) is always available, also very varied. For every dinner - ice cream (very tasty), and national cakes are baked - super delicious, and fish is grilled right in front of you, and in general at dinner everything is really like in a restaurant - the waiters offer and pour wine, bring and clean everything on time. The atmosphere is most pleasant. The veranda of the restaurant has a delightful view of the sea and the entire hotel. But, unfortunately, it's nice to sit there only in the evening. In the morning and in the afternoon there is one terrible drawback - WASP! ! There are just a myriad of them. It is impossible to sit quietly on the veranda during the day. OSES EVERYWHERE! ! The bait placed around does not solve this problem at all. Why the hotel administration cannot eradicate them once and for all is incomprehensible. With today's technology, it's not that hard. And if someone, God forbid, swallows a wasp? ! This is a death outcome, how to drink to give! And how is it for people with children (of which there are many) or allergies to wasp stings ???
After dinner, they usually move to the lobby and to the platform that opens from the lobby to the upper pool. Musicians also perform and dance a little, whoever wishes. At 11 pm it all ends and you can move to the disco on the ground floor. Well, a disco, this, of course, is loudly said, but if you wish, it will roll. Sometimes, in front of the whole hotel, luxurious entertainment evenings are arranged. BUT WARNING! ! ONLY FOR ITALIANS AGAIN! ! They simply block the entrances and exits to the site, where the whole hotel usually gathers to relax in the evening, and only "their own" are allowed in. I'M SHOCKED!!
The staff of the LOBBY bar is generally a separate story. Of all the hotel pofigists - this is the MOST. You can stand indefinitely and wait for someone to turn to you. At the same time, it will not be clear at the same time what 4 people are doing behind the bar counter, and no one will even look in your direction. You stand and stand for yourself. . : ) Until you call them several times, they will do you a favor. Cocktails are terrible, I do not recommend taking. But Turkish coffee is excellent - I recommend it.
SEA. The Aegean Sea is very comfortable in temperature, clean and the water itself is very beautiful - it just sparkles in the sun because of the small grains of local rock in the water - beautiful, like silver dust in the water. The entrance to the sea is quite convenient. But leave your mask and snorkel at home - the bottom is deserted and lifeless, there is nothing to see. On the beach you can take a catamaran for free. And at the end of the beach there is a volleyball court. Everything else is paid.
NATURE. It's true! That's great! ! Dates, a sea of flowers and bushes ripen on chic palm trees. Live, fearless CHAMELEONS even walk around the territory ! ! Awesome show, impressive. This speaks of good ecology.
TENNIS. We liked that there are two courts, they are absolutely free, without time limits. Play - I don't want to. Rackets and balls are also free. But, it is better to take the balls with you, the animators have two dead balls. Rackets are not the best - but better than balls, you can play. : )
WHAT TO WATCH. Definitely - BODRUM! ! A beautiful town, but I warn you right away - very expensive. It costs nothing to buy there, but to see architectural monuments is a MUST. There are a lot of them. I especially liked the St. Peter. Stunningly preserved architecture, many interesting rarities, a view of the most picturesque Bodrum bay, etc. On the territory of the fortress, peacocks in small peacocks just walk and peck pomegranates - just a fabulous place.
