I would like to share about a trip to Marmaris. This is my second trip to Turkey. The first time I went in 2007 to Kemer and I really liked it there. But when I was going to go for the first time, I wanted to go to Marmaris, but since flights from Rostov are very rare, of course I didn’t get on the plane. And although I did not get to Marmaris, I did not regret Kemer, and taking into account the trip to Marmaris this year, I can even say that Kemer is better. So let's start from the first day: we were taken to Marmaris and settled in the Green Beach 3 * hotel, along the way, as usual, we were offered excursions around Marmaris. I chose Green Beach 3 * because I was not going to spend all the time in the hotel and the all-inclusive food did not suit me, especially since they are basically the same in this pricing policy and there was not much difference, although when I went it turned out to be the most cheap, and before that it was almost more expensive than 4 *. The hotel is basically normal for a 3 *.

I got the room on the second floor (or first) as the kitchen, hall and restaurant were located on the first floor (description can be found on the websites). He is as described. Music plays until 1 am and only after that you can fall asleep. In principle, all hotels located on the first line sin with this, so it is customary for them to arrange shows after 21.00 hours. What can I say about the staff: the guys working in the cafe and on the beach obviously live from what they sell, therefore their attitude towards people living in the hotel is corresponding, if you buy water, ice cream from them, then they kiss you and warn all your desires, and if you don’t buy anything, at best, they simply ignore it. They cleaned my room all the time, but I left a lira every other day. The food itself was monotonous and that yesterday's one could have been upgraded a little, as I read it's true.

There was also a sausage salad with cheese in mayonnaise, so it's just a nightmare, no tasteless mayonnaise just greasy. But basically, I ate. On the second day, we were supposed to have a meeting with our representative in Marmaris "Intourist", so it turned out that in the morning I did not go anywhere, and at three we had a sightseeing tour of Marmaris. I probably need to add that I went there alone without friends, they didn’t succeed and I decided that I would completely go alone. We were taken all over Marmaris and to Icmeler, as they are connected by one road along the seashore with a length of 14 km. They showed us from the mountain to the bay, we went to the golden center, it was fun to the skin center where they held a show from the sightseers (and I wouldn’t say that you can buy a jacket cheaply there, some guys bought a jacket and a bag for 600 bucks, though before that it cost 1200 ). But basically, I went to the survey to see the location of Marmaris, how it works.

What can I say about all the hotels that, as they say, are located 2-4 km from the center of Marmaris, this is not entirely true. Their center is a square with a monument to their first president and 100 meters from the street of bars. And so you go out to the main street and you are in the center. And you can walk so that it is safe along the main street and along the promenade. If you take a hotel in Marmaris, it is desirable that it has its own beach, since getting to the beach will cost you at least 5 lira, and if you go to Icmeler you will have to pay 1.5 lira only one way and even though I was not there, but most likely if you lie on the sunbeds you will also have to buy something. As for the purity of the sea in Icmeler, I can’t say anything, maybe it’s clean, but I’m not sure, they say it’s cleaner. I swam in Marmaris, so I can say that it’s dirty near the shore, but I swam to the buoys, and it’s very clean there.

As for the beach, I want to warn you, I don’t know how it is in another place, but if you are lying alone, then you may well be relocated to a neighbor even without your presence in order to make room for left-wing vacationers. They have an arrangement of sunbeds, two sunbeds and between them an umbrella and a small table, you know why, so I moved a couple of times without notice. And the first two rows are for vacationers who order drinks and ice cream from them, if you don’t do this, then you may well be relocated, saying that it’s reserved. What can I say about excursions in Marmaris, I took it on the second day after the Turkish Night review, and since I was alone, I took it in Intourist and did not regret it, because I understood that, in principle, Marmaris was imprisoned for Europeans and to get into one a group with foreigners is not very fun, especially if you do not know English and cannot communicate with them.

And since "Turkish Night" means drinking and entertainment. There I met Olya and Alexei, and the next day we went to a disco on the bar street with them and went on a tour of Cleopatra. What I want to say about Cleopatra Island, I liked it the most of the excursions I went on, although my friends at the hotel dissuaded me, even the operators of travel agencies located on the street dissuade me from this excursion, but I didn’t listen and I’m very glad, because there are such the views open to the sea, I got very beautiful pictures, I can say that they are the best of the whole trip.

I also took an excursion to Dalyan with a visit to the island of turtles, I don’t know how anyone, but I got the impression that I spent the day in vain, especially for that kind of money ($ 35), although I’m glad that I took it in Intourist, because if in Kemer everything is for Russians there, and almost every guide knows Russian and it’s no problem to assemble a bus with Russian-speaking people for them, then in Marmaris you will be faced with the fact that you will be the only person who speaks Russian, like me on a yacht trip around the Mediterranean islands. One consolation in this trip is one price ($ 8) and the fact that there was nothing to talk about, you swim and sunbathe on a yacht. Although, again, they do not take into account the tastes of Russians. Europeans generally like to lie in sun loungers and it’s not important for them to swim, and therefore on this trip out of 6 hours we swam in total only 1.5, I was very disappointed. Although we swam in the Aegean Islands literally every half hour for 30 minutes in 5 places.

So I swam there, but my friends who took the same excursion, but only Intourist, told that their guide literally entertained them all the time with different stories. They told me that 90% of the pleasure from the trip can be safely attributed to the guide, so I really regretted that I did not take this tour from Intourist. Regarding another excursion, I decided to take a fishing trip, but again, not from Intourist and I was very sorry, because in Intourist the boat was equipped with an echo sounder, but this one had nothing and we stuck like fools for 3.5 hours at sea caught each about 1 fish, although one prepared there in advance, he bought shrimp and caught them, so he pecked, and the rest ... in Intourist they still fry your catch in front of you, but here I still don’t understand whether they left it , or they gave it to everyone, I lost interest in fishing after an hour of sitting without a bite.

Although when in the evening we walked along the embankment there, one man, literally at the shore, caught fish one by one simply on a hook and a fishing line with a sinker. I concluded for myself that Europeans prefer peace, so they are loaded on a yacht, on buses and left alone without entertaining and giving only minimal information. And the main thing that I learned from a trip to Marmaris is that it is really a European resort, if you want to drink natural juice there, you will have to go to a cafe and drink it there, and this automatically increases the price of juice by 4 lira, if you can drink freshly squeezed juice in Kemer for 1-2 lira, then in Marmaris this will have to be done for at least 5 lira. And so it is in everything - they are not used to eating and drinking on the go. Another thing I didn’t find in Marmaris is normal fruits, it feels like they don’t eat them at all, they really lay in supermarkets, but you yourself understand what a supermarket is.

And so on the trays like in Kemer they don’t seem to exist at all, and if there is, it’s in the depths of Marmaris. When I was driving, I really wanted to buy pomegranate juice pomace for the heart and blood, it is very useful, and buy Turkish delight, but I didn’t find anything like it. Turkish delight could only be bought in a box or for such a price ... I remember then I bought a kilogram for $ 13, and here we took 4 types for a sample for a piece (only 8 - this is probably somewhere around 300 grams) for a sample of 12 lira . And Olya took it in a box and it’s not very good at all, I can buy one from myself. Of the souvenirs, there are magnets, painted plates, boxes with packed Turkish delight, soap, and, in principle, everything.

I didn’t find anything original there, though when we went on a trip to Cleopatra on the way we met a stall with copper products (Turks, sugar bowls, various crafts) here you could choose their national, original, and everything is so standard that there’s no desire for something I didn't have any to buy. It remains only to tell about the street of bars. On the first day, we just walked around there, there are clubs of interest in one that sounds jazz, another Turkish music, the third hip-hop, etc. everyone will find something for themselves.

On the second we went to Aura, on the third our tour operator took us to the Greenhouse as a gift, where by ordering one cocktail as a gift you get the same one for free, we stayed there for about 2 hours, the music didn’t seem very good to us and we went to another bar called Crazy house "it seems we liked it there more, the next day we again went to Aura, then there was a break, we rested on the beach, and on the last day before departure we went to clubs just to dance cleanly, if you go into the club like that, you order a cocktail (from 14 to 20 lira), then we first went to Crazy for an hour, then moved to Aura, if you stay there until 4 in the morning, foam parties begin. For those who love parties, Marmaris is very cool in this regard, I liked it there.

Mostly young people in clubs until 6 in the morning, and then some sleep on the beach, some in the room, and since I also came to the sea, we were in clubs somewhere until 2-30, so every day I slept about 5 hours . But the bulk of Europeans go out somewhere around 8.30 on the trail along the coast and go along where they like, they go to a cafe and sit there until almost 1 in the morning, then they are taken back by buses if they do not live on the first, second lines, but deeper or in Icmeler. So it’s not very good to walk along the promenade in the evening, as they call it, there are 3-4 young people standing near each cafe and trying to lure you in, it’s almost impossible to walk there calmly, they always throw themselves under your feet and beg you to go into their cafe.

Conclusion: if you want to hang out (I mean dance all night long) then Marmaris is for you, if you relax without tension and not in a hotel all day, then this is not for you.

They really don't like Russians very much, as we are not used to spending money on cafes.

Regards, Anna
