The 236 Hurumzi Hotel is located in the heart of Stone Town on Zanzibar Island with fabulous views of the Indian Ocean from the top of the restaurant tower. This ancient building, which used to belong to a wealthy merchant, has been refurbished to a luxury hotel (in 1994). Furnishings and decoration in the rooms are reminiscent of the plot from the fairy tales "Thousand and One Nights". Although this is not a sultan's palace, the owners treated all the details and trifles with such attention that a complete illusion is created that it was as if they had landed in another time and another world.
