About the homeland of Ivan Franko and salt.

Our day started in Skhidnytsia and ended in Drohobych. The day was full, interesting, and until the 11th night we explored new places for ourselves. By the way, for this day we had at least 2 discoveries and everything new.

We were taken from Skhidnytsia to the village of Nahujevychi. While we were driving, we thought about what Nahujevychi was and what we would see there ...Because we had no idea what was there and why this village was on our route. Shame on us.

And in the village of Nahujevychi there is a house-museum of Ivan Franko, which was opened in 1981 - http:// www. Carpathians. info / ua / uk / lv / dr / nahuyevychi / museums / preserve / . Ivan Franko was born and raised here. I think everyone knows Ivan Franko, and there is no need to talk about him. But few people remember where he was born. And this place was a revelation for us today №1.

We were very emotionally received. There are wonderful people working here, in love with their work and Franko's work: Nadiya and Bohdan. Thanks to such people, museums can develop and have a future.

We visited the manor house of Franko and his family, the museum, which houses Franko's manuscripts, his documents and some household items. Franco-Fest is taking place in Nahujevychi and will also take place in August this year. We recommend entering in the calendar.

By the way, here's a life hack - the Franko Museum in Nahujevich has two guest rooms, and you can stay there for free during your trip.

We were very well fed, welcomed in the restaurant and then taken to Drohobych.

Here we were greeted no less warmly and the whole delegation was led around the city and told all the legends.

And here we had the discovery of №2 - a unique building of the 14-16 century - the Church of St. George. The church is listed and protected by UNESCO.

The church is completely wooden, built without any nails, but this is not what makes this church unique. And drawings, icons and the structure of the church. First, a church within a church is when two are actually located in one church. This does not often happen. Second, the tree for the church was bought for salt. Since not everything was positive with the tree in Drohobych, but there was a lot of salt, the tree was bought in a neighboring village.

The iconostasis is made of gold and silver and has been preserved since 1659. There is also a key that opens a huge castle on the church, which has also survived since the 16th century.

We were very impressed and remembered by the Church!

Drohobych is known for its salt trade and most of the history here revolves around it.

It was through Drohobych that the great salt route went =)

We personally tasted Drohobych's salt. It was presented to us by the Drohobych Tourist Information Center ( https://www. facebook. com/drogo. centr/ ). Thanks to them, now we will have salt for all time.

The best place to get a first impression of a new city for me is the observation deck. We were also able to look at Drohobych from above and climb the Town Hall tower. From there you have a wonderful view of the city, streets and even the mountains.

And after a sightseeing tour of the city, we immersed ourselves in art - watching a play-reading of the Alter Youth Theater in an incredibly beautiful university building.

And such dynamics and change of activity, events in our route, of course, exhausting, but very pleasing.

Well, after a busy and interesting day, we rested and ate very well in the restaurant "Watermelon" ( https:// www. facebook. com / kavunkava / After 1.5 years of whole rice, it was a heavenly pleasure to taste the wonderful pasta with olives.

And I tried coffee with salt. Being in Drohobych, you just can't help but try such an interesting version of coffee. And here not only coffee is served with salt, but also a cake. All in all, it just has to be here.

I am, of course, an impressive girl, and I like many cities, but I immediately feel love or dislike for the city, from the first minute. And here's how it turned out. We fell in love with Drohobych! Although our acquaintance was quick and superficial, the streets, old houses, courtyards and balconies were remembered and I am already planning my next visit here.

And now I want to share useful and interesting information about the city.

Drohobych has been around for 950 years and over the years it has attracted many colorful and interesting personalities.

And it is a pity that tourists often visit the city only as part of an organized tour of Truskavets. It seems to me that you need to come here for 2-3 days and set aside time to get acquainted with the city.

Top 5 to see in the city: Church of St. Jura, Town Hall in the city center and climb the tower, the old saltworks and learn about ancient methods that still cook salt, the Statue of Liberty, the balcony of the house №4 (probably the only balcony whose history is richer than the history of the house itself). Of course, drink coffee with salt and have a cake with her!

You can't do without your funny and interesting words in the city: aligan - great, great; brush - pavement; shine - take pictures, treikoche - tells quickly; Pashaks are residents of Drohobych.

The city has a tourist information center that will make life easier for tourists: there are maps of the city, you can learn about tours (by the way, there is a night theatrical tour), on the site you can even find audio tours.

And on weekends you should come to the center, to the Town Hall, to enjoy live music and musicians who will play on the Town Hall tower and be heard from all sides.

The day was very sunny, joyful and full. It's time to think about rest. Today we are received by the Christian center "Vitania" and we have excellent conditions for replenishment.

And I almost forgot - in Drohobych you are already waiting for a certificate for a day trip as part of the "Embroidered Way" Tour.

I hope this photo will tell you where he lies and soon there will be a lucky man! Be sure to email us when you find the certificate!

П. But any city is just a building, if it is not inhabited by wonderful people.

It is thanks to them that I have a very pleasant impression of both Drohobych and the Nahujevychs. Many thanks to Nadezhda, Bohdan, Lesya, Oleg, Igor, Ivan, Marina, the Franko Museum in Nahujevychi, the Tourist Information Center in Drohobych, the Kavun gastronomic café and the Vitania Christian Center
