About the military fort, ghosts and bees.

Today was a wonderful hot day!

We woke up in the estate "Babina stodola" in Kremenets. It's time to say goodbye to our mental coordinators: Elena and Oleg. Thanks to Olena and the newspaper "Realno" we became stars in Kremenets and learned everything about us here.

Buses go from Kremenets bus station in different directions: to Rivne, to Ternopil, and to Shatsky lakes. We need a bus to Dubno. Ticket price 21 hryvnias. Buses run very often.

After a quick breakfast, we dived into the local atmosphere and rode in a minibus standing. It turned out that many people wanted to go in that direction.

By the way, in such quick breakfasts and lunches we are very saved by the fruit battery from Veliki. com. ua

And so we have already left Ternopil region and entered Rivne region. Here we were met by a guide-archaeologist Vitaly. By the way, Vitaliy conducts an interesting and useful public about Dubno, archeology and the well-known fort - Dubno Fort Outpost (https:// www. Facebook. Com / dubnofort /? Ref = ts & fref = ts)> https:// www. facebook. com / dubnofort /? ref = ts & fref = ts ).

This fort became our goal. Everyone knows it as Cockroach Fort, but in fact it is called Dubna Fortress Outpost.

Unfortunately, there is no good transport connection to it. Here you need either a tour bus, or a taxi, or on foot. This is a big disadvantage of our infrastructure - many places are difficult to reach, not very good roads, no toilets and related facilities.

And we walked through the meadows. Nature is wonderful.

The trail is picturesque.

But it is difficult to walk with backpacks and in the sun.

But we came steadily with all our possessions.

The fort is huge simply. Here you can walk more than one hour. But walking alone here is quite dangerous. Here you can fall into old rooms, wander in a bush of poison ivy or get lost in the mazes. In addition, many objects are already collapsing and walking under the arch is also dangerous. Therefore, if possible, of course, it is better to come here with knowledgeable people. You can contact Vitaly, and he will conduct an interesting tour and tell all the details. After all, he is a real archaeologist.

We went around several ditches, went up, down to the lower level, walked through the dungeons of the second level.

The fort was built in 1870-1890 and during several wars served as a defense. The garrison currently housed up to 500 people, and the military up to 2.000!

Despite the fact that many years have passed, little is known about the fort itself and archaeologists continue to study it. Officially, there are 105 rooms, but these are the ones. Preserved. And there were many more of them.

In recent years, Cockroach Fort has become very popular for day trips and many tourists come here. But the object itself does not belong to anyone, and no one cares for it.

There are even daredevils who climb into overcrowded rooms, distant wells and stay here for the night.

At the fort we were approached by a local dog, he walked with us all the way back, which is about 5 km. And we solemnly walked to Dubna.

In Dubno we were shown the old synagogue, the monastery and the Lutsk gate next to it, we walked to the river Ikva, where archeological excavations are taking place and even saw how it happens. Interesting! Archaeologists are constantly finding something in Dubna. Settlements from the Trypillia culture have been found here, bullets and shell casings from the First and Second World Wars are constantly being found.

And, of course, we did not ignore the castle in Dubna. I thought that everything here was already destroyed, and only fragments of the castle remained. But the castle looks great.

Entrance fee UAH 5. And for photography you also need to pay 5 UAH.

We wandered around the castle, found a small descent in the dungeon, where the kitchen and armory were located, climbed the wall and there in a small tower. And they tried cappuccino and sandwiches in the castle.

And that's where our acquaintance with Dubno ended. Finally, I would like to highlight the top 5 things to visit in Dubno:

- Dubno Castle

- Dubno Fort

- Lutsk Gate

- Carmelite Monastery

- Medonova gora settlement

- Church of the Transfiguration.

And now we are moving to Mills.

Our coordinator - Oksana gave us a luxurious reception here!

First we go to the Khodkevich estate.

The Chodkiewicz family moved to Mlyniv from Chornobyl in 1785 and glorified Mlyniv. Today, the local history museum and the College of Technology and Economics are located on the territory of the estate.

By the way, only 40 km away is the place where the battle of Berestechko was known in 1651, so there are many burials of Cossacks and many archaeological finds of that time.

Taras Shevchenko, Lesya Ukrainka, Tadeusz Kostyushko used to visit Mlyniv, and Ivan Fedorov once worked for the Khodkevich family.

In several rooms of the museum, in addition to exhibits of nature and archeology, there are exhibits of family life.

And besides, there are, of course, legends and ghosts.

There are underground passages under the museum. And in general in the city, they say, there are many passages that go even under the river from one bank to another.

And here in this dungeon there is a ghost of a white lady. According to legend, the daughter of the Chodkiewiczs - Rosalia, went to France to stay, while there was a revolution. She was taken prisoner and executed. And on the same day her mother saw in the estate a ghost of her daughter with her head cut off. And the ghost goes there. From that moment on, the mother packed up and left the estate. You don't have to go to France on vacation, you have to go to Ukraine! =)

The cleaners and security guards here are constantly faced with some kind of devil. And once the STB team even came here to film the Psychics program.

But the ghost is not alone.

And a few more live in the city.

The museum does theatrical night tours every July and can be really scary at times.

Already frozen and scared in the dungeon, we went to a press conference. Here we talked a bit about the project "Embroidery Way", about travel, met with local journalists and activists.

And then all the fun began. An acquaintance with an apiary and a beekeeper was waiting for us.

At the entrance we were met by a beautiful girl who played the bandura for us and sang a heartfelt song.

And then we were dressed in special costumes. We immediately became like teletubbies. And we went to get acquainted with bees, with honey.

Although we were hidden from the bees, it was a little scary. Thousands of bees swarmed in the hives.

Up to 80.000 bees can live in one house!

And they all work to collect pollen and give us delicious honey.

Of course, we also tasted local products. It was simply impossible to stand there under the influence of the charm of the chief beekeeper.

I was very surprised and pleased by the local youth. Instead of wandering the streets of the city and drinking beer, they set up a youth leisure center - Patelnia. There are open-air film screenings, board games, quests, song contests. The center is open all summer and everyone can come in the evening and spend time in pleasant and useful company. The boys are only 16-17 years old, and they can already organize, do what they are burning.

These are active young people who should be equal to!

And at the end of the day we had a terrific dinner on the banks of the Ikva River at the Elling Sports Base. What we were not treated here! But the most important thing is the people and their hospitality. I do not cease to amaze people in the way.

And after a hearty dinner, the same guys from the "Frying Pan" took us on a boat trip across the Iqwa. Under the rays of the morning sun we looked at the green shores and listened to the legends of this small but cozy town.

And now we are resting in the dormitory of the College of Technology and Economics. We have already been to the children's camp, it's time to try the dormitories! Conditions here, by the way, class!
