The other day I came across TurPravda on the question of whether to go on vacation to Dykanka. Realizing that opinions on this issue may be different, I decided to share a short story about our short trip to those lands in May this year. Suddenly, for the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, you will choose uncrowded Europe (even without a visa, Intercity, and an additional day off), but prefer to spend this wonderful time spending evenings on a farm near Dykanka. ! ; )))

Some practical information - the trip took a total of 4 days, although according to the results I can say that it would be possible to plan for 5 - there are a few places that I would like to visit. We drove by car, the Kyiv-Poltava highway is probably one of the best in the country today, except for the detour around Poltava. Therefore, if possible, immediately turn to the city and drive through it.

Otherwise, I, like the local city government, am not responsible for the integrity of your car. : ) We chose a hotel near the center of Poltava, and my impressions of it I posted on TP before. To prepare for the trip, I used several tourist sites around Poltava - www. Tourism. Poltava. ua , https:// tourist. pl. ua , http:// www. battle. Poltava. ua , http:// poltavahistory. inf. ua .

And I would advise you to watch Leonid Parfyonov's film "Gogol's Bird" as an additional mood, especially the first part, which is about the places you visit. Here, probably, and all organizational moments, and therefore - we welcome to Poltava region!

Our first stop on the way was Mirgorod , where I was on a school tour in the mid-80s. According to the results of the current visit, I agree with Pavel Tychyna - "Not that now Myrhorod!

"(C) , and it's nice to note that the differences are better. By the way, this spring the 115th anniversary of the resort was celebrated.

Entering the gates of the Resort Park, you will find yourself in a very well-groomed area, where the buildings of sanatoriums are located,

Monument to the founder of the resort - Zemstvo doctor I. Zubkovsky, who was the first to prove the healing properties of Myrhorod mineral water.

Next you can see the famous Holy Dormition Cathedral, the first mention of which dates back to 1648.

Antique stylized mill,

pump room, where you will meet the heroes of Gogol's works,

and a nice lake with many inhabitants

And of course the famous "...

puddle, amazing puddle! the only one you've ever seen! It occupies almost the entire area. Great puddle! "(WITH).

Along it is a gallery of Gogol's characters

and, of course, a monument to Nikolai Vasilyevich himself.

According to those who managed to form a belief - whoever makes a wish here and grinds a dumpling in a bowl from a Rat, he will definitely get what he wants. So don't forget to enjoy. : ))

Well, we go further towards Poltava. On the way you can visit Reshetylivka - one of the centers of folk crafts of Poltava region. There are not many sights here - except for the magnificent pastoral lands evides ,

But to buy here a nice embroidered shirt or woven tapestry handmade, which specializes in local craftsmen, that's it. Do you want to immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere in an authentic outfit? ! ! ; ))

In the evening we are met by Poltava and Mykola Vasyliovych,

But there is only enough time to instantly walk through the Round Square and join the material values, ie dinner.

Next morning we are scheduled to visit Poltava Battlefield .

And although I came across information on the Internet that a city bus is going there now, the locals refuted this statement and we got there by car. Perhaps over the past six months, the situation has changed for the better.

The complex itself is located just a few kilometers from the city limits and consists of paid and free facilities.

Walking around, you can see the Monument on the mass grave of Russian soldiers who took part in the Battle of Poltava. It was first founded by Peter I in 1709, later repeatedly reconstructed and acquired its modern appearance on the 200th anniversary of the battle.

Opposite him is the Sampson Church,

built next to the mass grave in 1856

On its eastern faç ade was a picture of Peter I before the battle and the text of his order to the troops.

On the other side of the road you can see a modern memorial - the Rotunda,

under the dome of which there is a bell, and on the inside of the pylons there are images of the national flags of Ukraine, Russia and Sweden with the inscription in three languages "Time heals wounds".

And if you are not lazy to walk from the Rotunda for 10 minutes in the direction of the route, you will be able to see those left from the line of redoubts fortifications. During the campaign, I constantly clung to my husband with the question "And whose redoubts? Our? "To which a man who knows history much better than me, evasively replied that it was a redoubt of the Russian army.

And at the end of the walk we visited the Museum of the Battle of Poltava, in front of which is a monument to Peter I.

The museum is not very big, and there is some eclecticism in the exhibits, as some of them are decorated in Soviet times (well, the trends are appropriate),

including the famous Panorama of the Battle of Poltava,

And part - appeared in the recent history of Ukraine (also with a clear bias).

I will not burden you with all the details of acquaintance with the exhibition, but after leaving the museum, I thoughtfully said: "Yes! . . Now I'm not sure those redoubts were OURS! ».

And, concluding the theme of the museum, we should mention 2 more monuments erected to the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava - Swedes from the Russians, which can be seen near the road opposite the turn to the Museum,

As well as the Swedes from the compatriots, located a little further down the road (we visited it the next day, making a trip to other attractions).

Well, at the very end of the story about this trip - we could not pass the local Institute of Pig Breeding without taking a picture of such a cute pig-record holder. : )

The second half of the day was dedicated to Poltava and it is very convenient to use the developed route to see the sights " Stezhka legends ", which will take you to all the main important places. We, however, based on the location of our hotel, slightly deviated from it and on the street. Pushkin went to the monument to the poet,

and passed it, saw a very attractive building of the Poltava Museum of Local Lore.

We didn't get inside, but in winter this museum is the best attraction to visit. Especially since it's just as beautiful photo from here ).: )

Opposite it is a very specific monument to Taras Shevchenko in the style of constructivism, erected in 1926 by sculptor Ivan Kavaleridze.

Well, and further through the Sunny Park, past the Monument to the perished Ukrainian Cossacks

we go to the observation deck, which overlooks the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Cross (1699-1709) - the only (! ) in Ukraine seven-headed church in the Baroque style. During the war with the Swedes there was a stake of Charles XII. This is another place we haven't visited, but for the Christmas trip it's, I think, a must-see!

Next we pass the Monument at the resting place of Peter I, where in the XVIII century. there was a house "" about three rooms with a kitchen and a bath " of the Cossack Magdenko, in which on the second day after the Battle of Poltava in 1709.

the Russian tsar stopped.

On the contrary, one of the oldest churches in Poltava is the Church of the Savior, the date of construction of which is considered to be 1705.

According to legend, it was here that Tsar Peter said a prayer of thanksgiving after the victory in the Battle of Poltava. As you have already understood, most of the sights, legends and stories of Poltava are connected with this event.

And this is the slow way we go to the most famous place in Poltava - Ivanova Gora. This is a historical place of Poltava on the Cathedral Square, where more than 11 centuries ago stood a child of the chronicle city of Ltava.

On the Sobornosti Square we are greeted by the recently unveiled monument to Ivan Mazepa, which shows the Holy Dormition Cathedral (as history says - the first stone building in Poltava in 1774).

) and its bell tower, which survived the destruction of the cathedral in 1934 and was restored to the 1100th anniversary of the city.

After them you will pass Igor's stone, erected in honor of the first mention of Poltava (Ltava) in the Ipatiev Chronicle,

and the Monument to Poltava dumplings, which can be photographed near the queue of others. ; ))

Here Podolsk Tower is one of the five towers of the bastion fortress.

Finally, the symbol of Poltava is the White Gazebo, built in 1909, destroyed during the occupation and restored as the Rotunda of Friendship of Peoples in 1954.

From here there are magnificent views of the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the whole city.

On the way back we pass the House-Estate of Ivan Kotlyarevsky, built in 1969 according to a drawing by T. Shevchenko, made from nature in 1845.

And here we did not go inside, although it would be interesting, because, according to the guides, the entourage of the nineteenth century. inside the estate is reproduced very accurately.

And in the evening we have another event planned - a trip to Poltava Music and Drama Theater. NV Gogol .

This day was given "For two hares" - the production left a very pleasant impression.

And on New Year's holidays the "Night before Christmas" successfully goes.

Let me deviate from this and announce an intermission in my story. : )))
