I decided to share my impressions about the rest in the sanatorium "Zhovten". I arrived at the sanatorium at the 25th week of pregnancy, in August 2008. I bought a voucher on the spot, but you must first book a room with the head of the pregnancy department, Natalya Ivanovna. The cost of the room is 225 UAH per day. There were no problems with the settlement, although I know that girls who come on vouchers from social security often live in an electric sleep room for the first few days. It's not that bad, but still it's not a number. Rooms are good and renovated. The room is occupied by two people. All rooms have TVs, but not all have refrigerators. The rooms are cleaned every day, but the cleaning is poor. We bought ourselves washing powder and wiped the washbasin and tiles in the shower ourselves. The fifth and sixth floors of pregnant women are very neat, with pictures of babies. In general, the situation is positive. True, in some moments, echoes of Soviet education are still felt. Separate conversation about nutrition. The food is dietary, it does not differ in special variety, and if you are not a gourmet and food is not your forte, then you can survive. An approximate menu looks like this: breakfast - milk porridge or cheese casserole (cheesecakes); salad, or rather a piece - two tomatoes, cucumbers; porridge (buckwheat, oatmeal, barley), cutlet (an omelet is possible instead), tea, bread, butter, fruit (banana); lunch - borsch (soup), salad or vegetables, porridge (buckwheat, oatmeal, barley, rice) or potatoes, cutlet (boiled chicken, boiled or stewed meat), sometimes fish (boiled, stewed or fish cutlet), compote, fruit ( peach); dinner - fresh or stewed vegetables, porridge or potatoes, cutlet or boiled meat, stew, casserole (carrot, carrot-apple, carrot-curd, etc. ), tea, bread, butter, fruit (apple). On weekends they give potatoes with stewed squid. This is an approximate menu, of course, I can’t remember everything already. There is also restaurant food, but there you need to pay extra money. In the basement of the sanatorium there is a cafe where you can refresh yourself inexpensively. They have very tasty pancakes. The territory of the sanatorium is large, there is a pine forest around, there is where to take a walk. I can’t say that everything is perfect, no, it’s not licked, of course, I just saw better territories, but it’s clean, there is no garbage. Also on the territory there are lakes, a branch of the Dnieper, near it there is a small sandy beach, the bottom is covered with sand, the water is clean, you can safely swim. True, a lot of Kievans come for the weekend, so you need to take a place under the sun in advance. A few more words about procedures. The main procedures that are prescribed for pregnant women are Darsenval (exposure to weak current pulses mainly on the legs to reduce varicose veins and edema), baths, herbal inhalations, warming up the throat, nose, physiotherapy exercises, swimming pool, lectures. Massage is also prescribed, but you have to pay separately, you can agree without an appointment. Cost 20 UAH for 15 minutes, shoulder area. But my advice to you, be careful about massage, because masseurs do it the same way as they do not pregnant, and if you are predisposed to a threat, massage can provoke it. Separately, I want to say about physical education, swimming pool and lectures. There are two types of physical education, the one that the girl conducts (we pregnant women called her physical education for the dead, she is very gentle) and that the psychologist (he is also an obstetrician-gynecologist) conducts, this one is more effective. The pool is worth going to, although it leaves much to be desired. Exercises in the pool are just super, for stretching, for labor, during contractions, etc. And, of course, lectures. Conducted three times a week by the same psychologist. Very interesting and very useful. Weekend lectures and classes in the pool for couples. For the swimming pool, physical education and lectures, I want to say a huge thank you to Alexander Dmitrievich. Well, in general, that's all. If you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle, breathe fresh air, get useful information before giving birth, you can safely go to this sanatorium. I never regretted that I went, although I paid 4500 UAH for twenty days of my stay.
