The hotel was chosen based on the cost, information about living conditions and the location of the hotel. We called a month before arrival and booked a 3x local economy room on the 4th floor for about 290 hryvnias (half payment for the room before midnight is also possible).
We settled in around 14:00. The room did not scare us: a bathroom in the room, a balcony, a refrigerator. The lack of a TV was not critical for us. We freed up space in the middle of the room by moving one of the Soviet chairs to the balcony (it was nice to have tea on the balcony in the evening). The only thing I would like is a more attractive bathroom, but we put up with it, because. We came to Odessa to see, and not spend time in the bathroom. Another inconvenience was given to us by a mixer (hopefully, this was only in our room): water flowed simultaneously from the tap and from the shower, and at the slightest opening it poured with great pressure - we were able to control the water switch, applying considerable force to the switch, control the pressure and failed. Hot water was constant! There were cockroaches in the bathroom.
Naturally, there was no air conditioning, it was bearable to sleep with the balcony ajar. Another of the minuses is the round-the-clock construction of skyscrapers near the hotel, although it did not interfere with our sleep, even with the balcony ajar. Music from the night Arcadia was not heard.

At breakfast in the cafe "Old Odessa" (located on the territory of the hotel) we decided to save money, we had a kettle with us - we had breakfast in the room. After breakfast, we went to the city, and returned for lunch at the Old Odessa cafe (lunch costs its 40 hryvnias). After lunch, after a rest, we again headed to the city. We had dinner at the Zharyu-Paryu cafe near Cathedral Square, Grecheskaya St. , 45 (there were two more Zharyu-Paryu cafes - they don’t differ) - cheap and tolerable (however, the menu is repeated daily, probably, after a week it can get bored), milk and juice cocktails (6 hryvnias) and freshly squeezed citrus juices (10 hryvnias) are especially good. For fruits, you can look at the famous Privoz market.
The location of the hotel is convenient (unless it's important to settle in the historical center of the city, for example, in the Tsentralnaya Hotel), you can get to Arcadia Beach in 15 minutes on foot, by tram number 5 (25 minutes), fixed-route taxis (10-15 minutes) you can get to the railway station (and walk to the historical center of the city on Pushkinskaya or Rishelevskaya or Ekaterininskaya streets) or by tram number 5, go 2 more stops to Preobrazhenskaya street and walk to the historical city center or drive by tram number 3 (especially since public transport costs 1 hryvnia). It is also possible from the stop Preobrazhenskaya St. , crossing Staroportofrankovskaya St. , to walk around the Moldavanka area (Borders of Moldavanka: East - Staroportofrankovskaya St. ; North - Gradonachalnitskaya St. ; West - Balkovskaya St. ; South - Zankovetskaya St. and General Tsvetaev), famous by couplet:
"I won't tell you for all of Odessa
All of Odessa is very large,
But also Moldavanka and Peresyp
They adore Kostya the sailor. "
I believe that an economy room in "OK Odessa" is suitable for everyone for whom the cost of the room is decisive and who is not afraid of such a bathroom.
We liked walking around Odessa, but diving in a mask due to the greater transparency of the water is still better on Fiolent (Sevastopol), where we went from Odessa!
