Arriving at the new SOCHI airport in the morning, we did not find our transfer... because. as it later turned out, it was not there, because we were NOT MET, despite the fact that we ordered this service. Local taxi drivers very kindly and very persistently tried to call us their services... it cost 3500 rubles. Yes, yes, 3500 thousand for the fact that we will be taken to the hotel... or 1000 rubles to the border (there it is 15 km, 10-20 minutes, depending on traffic). and then look for the car yourself already in Abkhazia.

Anyway, with grief in half, nervous We got to the hotel. When they expressed their claim on the account of the transfer... they heard silence in response... Ignore! We were checked into the room at 11.00, although check-in at the hotel after 14.00. At least thanks for that. Room is clean, carpet on the floor which is nice. Huge loggia. As soon as we moved in, the maid appeared... and began to sell excursions !! ! And 2500 rubles per person. The hotel security guards offered the same services. The room was cleaned every day, once a week they vacuum and change towels and bed linen.
Kitchen. Normal choice. Always at least 4 types of salads, a couple of the first. . . 4 types of meat dishes. Well, plus side dishes, pickled vegetables, sauces, etc. Seems good. . YES? Not everything is so rosy. They cook in old, overcooked butter... they found something to save on. As a result of which the stomach constantly hurt, three days after dinner there was a wonderful dessert of tablets. On the fourth day, they actually abandoned the dining room.
There are 5 cafes on the territory. the first one when leaving the hotel (all entertainment for children is held there). Further, before reaching the sea, two more (reasonable prices, good service and food). And two more cafes on the beach. Lighthouse and Bungalow. In Mayak you can buy beer, chips and every little thing. All the show programs are held in the Bungalow due to this, the prices there are unrealistically wound up. For example, a barbecue there costs from 240-360 rubles, depending on the meat. The same kebab, only with better service, can be tasted in the Abkhazia restaurant (if you go to the sea from the hotel, it will be on the right side) but already for 150 rubles. Agree there is a difference! Wake up in boxwood, don't go there, you won't regret it.
Beach, sea, territory. The beach is pebbly, it is VERY painful for your feet to walk, so buy closed slippers in which you can swim even in Moscow (well, or where you go to buy). The hotel, of course, they sell them, BUT two or even three times more expensive. And there's a markup for everything. For this reason, bring all sunscreen, creams, etc. with you. Diverted from the beach... it is pebbly, there are sun loungers and mattresses are issued for hotel residents. There are also umbrellas and LOUD MUSIC. One and the same every day... a wonderful local repertoire about drugs, thieves, and how local jigits relax. The sea is very clean, dolphins swim. And also annoying locals come with fruits, chacha, wine, etc. Here's what you should try on the beach is smoked fish, which is also brought by locals. Very tasty.

Excursions. You won't regret it if you go horseback riding. There are advertisements on the territory. It costs 500r per person. Also go to the RICA lake, it is very beautiful there. If they offer to go to Stalin's dacha there, then it's not worth it... doing it there and a very narrow and dangerous road there. You can also go to the labor camp... but not with a tour, but on your own. The tour costs 800 rubles per person, and if you yourself then 50 rubles a minibus that you can catch right at the exit from the hotel. By the way, there is a sandy beach at the fish factory, which is very nice after pebbles). It is also very beautiful in the caves in NEW ATHO.
Well, what else can I tell you, like everything. Abkhazia is a wonderful country... we need to change the attitude of the local population towards tourists. Now they see not you, but your wallet. They want to get money for air, but they need to be earned.
