Oddly enough, but we never had a particular desire to visit the UAE, but it so happened that the rest in September 2011 took place exactly there - which we later did not regret... The only drawback was air travel with the Donbassaero company, which hardly did not turn into a tragedy (((The plane is old, the seats are shabby, the food is of dubious quality, but the anticipation of the rest smoothed out all the unpleasant sensations. When we met at the airport, they immediately gave me flowers - red roses and escorted me to the car. We got to Fujairah in 2 hours, with there were no problems with comfort and roads. And here we are at the Miramar Al Aqah Beach 5 * hotel! The first impression is WOW!!!! I have been to many places, but this hotel left me only the best memories. I agree with the tourists who write, that there is nothing for young people to do here - there are no cafes and shops nearby. But for a secluded family vacation and holidays with children, this is a heavenly place. The hotel is homely. We had food for breakfast and dinner - excellent food, everything is very neat and aesthetically decorated: salads in small individual sockets, rolls, all kinds of meat, amazing desserts. . .
As for the rooms: the rooms are spacious, with marble elements, large balconies and very good bathrooms.
Ocean....This is a separate conversation. I did not expect such warm water. Little kids sat in the ocean for 2 hours, not to mention adults. I have not seen any fuel oil, which is often written about.
For lovers of beer and other strong drinks, I can advise the following: buy all alcoholic drinks in Duty Free or ask taxi drivers and they will take you to the only alcoholic "point" in Fujairah. Buying drinks on site is very expensive.
As for excursions, this is a complete scam - especially fishing in the Gulf of Oman...
For a holiday in Dubai, we chose an economy class hotel: Sadaff. The hotel, of course, is not a fountain, but it’s quite suitable for an overnight stay))) And next to this hotel there is a 2-star hotel, which has a 24-hour bar, which employs a wonderful bartender from Zaporozhye - Angela. Here you can buy beer, whiskey, etc.
Dubai is a city worth visiting at least once. Be sure to take a sightseeing tour to understand what's what. Personally, we visited the Waild wadi water park - an unforgettable experience and went to the oldest district of the city - Bar - Dubai to the market, where we stocked up on fabrics and scarves!
In Dubai, taxis are cheap, and in the metro there is a rather interesting and confusing payment system, naturally not in favor of the tourist)))
Singing fountains are something, next to them you start to think about the eternal))))
The way back was very nervous and hard, our plane almost crashed and those 5 hours that we spent in the sky were the hardest for us. But everything ended well and we would very much like to return to this wonderful country again.
