Introduction to Dubai
We have been planning a trip to Dubai for a long time, and among the huge number of hotels we chose Marina View, and did not regret it at all: the hotel turned out to be wonderful! city. By the way, the Dubai Marina area (where the hotel is located) is very beautiful, there are a lot of shops, entertainment, JBR beach. visited the aquarium and the underwater zoo. The aquarium in Dubai is a tunnel where underwater inhabitants swim around you. It all sounds cool, of course, but in reality it is a small tunnel with a maximum length of 20 meters, with a lot of tourists, and the underwater zoo was not particularly impressed, all- this entertainment is not worth $ 35 for entry (per person, and there are four of us! ).
But the evening was a success: we watched the show of "singing" fountains - it's really an amazing sight! The next day there was an excursion to the Indian Ocean, to the Emirate of Fujairah, but all the Emirates, except Abu Dhabi, were passed along the way. There was a stop during the trip near the market with carpets and the market with fruits. Impressions from the market were simply terrible: impudent sellers climb under your feet, shout, push, if only you tried their goods. They even snatch money from your hands and deceive! But the fruits are really tasty and at an adequate price) As for the ocean, we were very glad that we didn’t take a boat tour, but just went to the beach: the weather was cold, rainy and not sunny, we would have died on a boat. But anyway, the views were beautiful, so the tour is clearly worth it. I can also advise you to take a sightseeing tour in Abu Dhabi, although it is until late in the evening, it is still very interesting, I especially liked the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
The guide was uninteresting, the tour itself is also very useless, for example, we walked around the area in which we live for two hours, and when we went to the Dubai Mall, we went completely crazy. It was Thursday, a holiday day, and there were so many people there is a lot that you can’t even see where you are going. As a result, we concluded that you can climb the Burj Khalifa and visit Palm Jumeirah on your own, simply by using a taxi. By the way, they often read on the Internet that it is dangerous to use a taxi circles, etc. Maybe we were so lucky, but there were no problems with taxi drivers at all, no one cheated, the cost always did not exceed 60 dirhams. And in general, it happens on different sites that the rules in the country are strict, almost in an abaya you have to walk down the street . Maybe this applies to other Emirates, but definitely not Dubai. Everyone’s dress code is quite loose, shorts, T-shirts, and you can safely wear a swimsuit on the beach without looking strange. On the last day we went to JBR beach, which located nearby.
The water is clean, soft pleasant sand, but in some places it’s clearly not worth swimming, dead fish lie on the shore (it’s not clear for what reason, but there are very few of them, we saw two of them all the time) The beach is equipped, there are places for washing feet , as well as a shower. But sunbeds cost simply unreal money: 110 dirhams for one sunbed, and for two - 195 dirhams (this is about 3000 rubles)! If you want to go shopping, then do not go to Dubai Mall: it is simply impossible to find a way out of it, but there are a lot of people, and the prices are too high. It’s better to go to some smaller mall, we liked the Dubai Marina Mall (it was 700 meters from the hotel). Everyone else advises Ibn Batuta Mall, but we didn’t have time to go there. When we had to fly away, an unpleasant situation happened. We barely had time to check in for the flight, because for some unknown reason our guide drove in circles and picked up tourists from other hotels. did not receive... In general, we really liked the trip, so we advise everyone m to visit this city)
