I am writing a detailed review, because before the trip I collected information on the net in parts. The three of us (with my husband and a 4-year-old child) rested at the Kotva Hotel from 08/23/2014 to 09/06/2014. I read a lot of reviews about it, expected less from the hotel, but everything turned out to be just super. 1. The hotel itself is large, new, excellent rooms, large hall, everything is very nice in terms of interior. Each room has a shower, hair dryer, refrigerator, balcony with 2 chairs and a table, TV, air conditioning (working and free, and then in some reviews some miracles are written! ). Wi-Fi in the lobby is free, although slow. 2. Wonderful service - the rooms were cleaned every day, towels were also changed daily, even the described sheets of the child were changed without asking. Tipping left 2 times out of gratitude. 3. At the end of the holiday, due to some problems in our wing, we were moved to a 2-room apartment at no extra charge, although before that we lived in a standard room. SUPER APARTMENTS! 4. The presence of a large beautiful mini-water park on the territory of the hotel is VERY beautiful and ideal for families with children! Plus a large swimming pool. There are a lot of sunbeds, enough for everyone. For me personally, the water was cold. But kids splash around all day long. 5. Cafe on the territory of the hotel (in the form of a huge stone fish + a large ship) - very beautiful, reasonable prices. 6. About food at the hotel. We only took breakfast. GOOD breakfasts. I read all the reviews and was afraid that the breakfasts would be terrible. I don't know what people eat for breakfast at home, who spoke so negatively. We had enough: semolina porridge, croissants, buns, biscuits, croutons, toast, 3 types of pasta, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, several types of sausages, cheese, cheese, butter, jam, honey, cereal, milk, 2 soups (although not very , for an amateur), tomatoes, cucumbers, oranges. As for juices - the usual ones from packages. Indeed, once they were decently diluted with water. The rest of the days there were no complaints. Tea and coffee for me were just awful. I don’t drink tea and coffee from bags at home, but these are also of poor quality, I have never found black tea. We did as advised in one of the reviews - we bought tea in a supermarket, more or less normal. In terms of all-inclusive or + dinner - it’s better not to take it (we asked the vacationers - dinner is worse than breakfast). 7. Regarding eating out. Personally, I printed out a leaflet for myself with a list of Bulgarian dishes with names and descriptions - I did not regret it! In general, the cuisine, of course, is delicious, varied, but, of course, it also depends on the institution. We ate at cafes and restaurants. For the price - from 15 euros for three, but this is from the belly with beer and wine (personally for us). The portions are large - see the weight on the menu, ask about the availability of a side dish (we ordered more than necessary for the first few days and overate). The waiters all speak Russian. There are better places near the hotel. – cafe “Sarov” near the bus stop on Nessebar: simple interior, but very tasty and cheap: for example, casserole 400 g + salad 300 g + pancake with jam for a child + 2 beers + juice + garlic cake - 25 leva with a tip. - restaurant "Bulgaria" - directly opposite the hotel, 100 m from the entrance, slightly to the left. VERY tasty and beautiful! The prices are higher, of course, but it's worth it. Plus, there are cool desserts for children! - a cafe on the beach (Srpska khnya, it was called something like that) - for example, sauté ed potatoes, breaded chicken fingers, salad, 2 beers, juice, soup soup - about 25 leva. - nearby on the beach towards Nessebar in tents they sell shawarma, pancakes, fried fish "tsatsa" - great for beer. - in Nessebar we went to restaurants by the sea to eat seafood - for three 35 - 40 euros with a tip, but this is a snack bar (for example, 2 soups with seafood, fish with a side dish, pasta with seafood, flatbread, 2 glasses of wine, juice, 10% tip ). - what to take from food to the child? Pileshka soup, pasta carbonara for two with an adult (especially delicious in Bulgaria! ), pancake with jam, casseroles in Sarov with adults, in the restaurant at the hotel - mashed potatoes with a cutlet (grilled cutlet! like nowhere else no, but the child ate with pleasure even in the presence of their peculiar spices), in the cafe "John Smith" next to the hotel - a set - mashed potatoes, fried egg, sausage, cucumbers. - in the center in tents they sell potatoes with Potatos fillings - I liked it very much. 8. Good location of the hotel. At the junction of Nessebar and the edge of Sunny Beach. Walk to Nessebar - 30 min. a walking step along the sea, if you cut off part of the path through the beach. We went to Nessebar by bus (1 lev per adult) and by trains (7 lev for three). Similarly to the center of Sunny Beach. A stop not far from the hotel (from the main entrance, the first turn to the left to the main street where buses run - on the right is a stop to the center (it is better to get off near the Kuban casino - this will be the center), and if you cross the road at a traffic light - stop in Nessebar. Bus - No. 1.9. 200 meters to the beach on a wooden deck. On the beach, paid zones alternate with free ones. Personally, I never raised my hand to rent an umbrella and a sun lounger - 4 euros for an umbrella + 4 euros for a sun lounger, and if for all three and all 14 days? We just bought a beach mat for 6 euros and an umbrella for 10 euros. People lie on towels or on bedspreads. The beach itself is wide, quite clean, very pleasant sand, some stones, of course, very small, which is super for children. for me personally (although my husband, on the contrary, liked it) - the whole of our vacation the sea was restless, for several days the waves were quite large, but taking into account the fact that you can splash in the water up to your waist - everyone swam and splashed in the waves, including children (our life jacket e, which was also bought next to the hotel for 10 euros, in my opinion). nine. In general, about the weather at that time - there was no sweltering heat, it was windy (sometimes the wind was quite cold, which made it uncomfortable to swim), in the evening it was cool for a couple of days, the water was generally warm, but, of course, not fresh milk. Personally, I would be more pleasant if it were hotter and the sea was calm. But the rest was quite comfortable. They noticed that they drank very little liquid - they don’t want to drink there. The last 2 days it has been raining with thunder and lightning all over the sky. 10. Shops. There are many small supermarkets near the hotel. Not far in the direction of Nessebar supermarket "Penny". In the direction of the center, a couple of stops on the bus - a stop near the Meridian Hotel and go a little ahead and cross the road - the Perla supermarket, then into the courtyard to the right - Mladost. This is for buying alcohol, souvenirs, pernekus. Fruit bought in a shop next to the bus stop (in the direction of the center of Sunny Beach). 11. Excursions. We only went to the Bulgarian village - we liked it very much: in addition to the village itself, dinner with unlimited wine + concert + dance on coals + disco. We walked a lot, rode bicycles to the mountains, saw many hotels both in the center and at the other end of the sunny beach. Believe me, our hotel is SUPER!! ! In addition to the voucher and visas (1600 euros with a flight from Minsk for 14 nights), we spent exactly 1000 euros (with small purchases and gifts). I think that this is the optimal amount, it is difficult to invest in a smaller amount in my opinion. In general, the impressions of Bulgaria are very good (cons can be found everywhere! ), We really liked it.
