Rested in Hainan from 25.11. to 08.12. 2011 in the hotel Cactus (Yalunvan Bay) two adults. We flew from Krasnoyarsk through the Pegas operator, the North Wind airline. The flight was normal, except, of course, that they fed us on the plane just miserably, by the way, on the way back, everyone was satisfied with the feeding. They brought us to the hotel, placed us quickly (in the sense they gave us coupons for food and a key card, took a deposit of $ 100 and didn’t even show us to the room, and in our group there were guys who went abroad for the first time, so they couldn’t even turn on the light in the room, not to mention how to use the safe, and the poor fellows wandered around the reception until they found their own guys from the group), the standard room is very modest and without a balcony (in Thailand, last year, for about the same money the room was much bigger and with a balcony). The most interesting thing is that the girls who paid for the triple room were settled in a double room, where everything was for two, then they brought a third bed, but since the room was not big at all, there was no room left at all, so I had to refuse the third bed and sleep pushing two together and every day begging the maids for a third set of towels. The hotel deserves 4 stars if we talk about the appearance, the territory is large and beautiful, quite well-groomed and beautifully lit. The pools are really small (adult-1.2 m, children-90 cm), there is not even a small water slide for children, so the pools are always empty, but lifeguards are on duty at the pool all the time. In short, they are crazy about safety, in the sea in the morning the water is knee-deep almost to the buoys, but in the afternoon the water rises a little, if you swim behind the buoys they whistle immediately, with a small storm it was forbidden to swim. The water at this time is cool, sometimes it rained for days on end and the wind is very cold. If there is a red flag, then you can not swim. There is no toilet on the beach, and given that the journey to the hotel takes about 10 minutes at a brisk pace, it became a pity for the couple with children, because our children cannot do everything under the bush, unlike the Chinese ones, and we have to run to the hotel. We almost didn’t go by typewriter, the road to the beach is beautiful and it’s faster to walk than to wait for the typewriter, there is always a queue for it. Even on the beach all the time there were not enough sunbeds and half of the guests lay on the sand (by the way, the sunbeds are made of wooden slats and without mattresses, you won’t lie down for a long time, it’s very hard). As for the hotel, it is a very calm hotel, relaxing music played all the time, the same day after day, by the end of the holiday I already wanted to howl under it, the pool closes at 23-00, the lights are turned off, everyone sleeps. No music for you, no entertainment, in this regard, it’s boring, although their artists sometimes sang on the terrace of the restaurant, but there’s nowhere to sit nearby, apparently only for restaurant visitors, by the way, they tried to eat there, but the portions there are so meager (unlike the prices), like as if we have a task to lose 20 kg in two weeks. Breakfasts at the hotel are monotonous, almost all the food is spicy - for the Chinese (Russians ate mostly scrambled eggs with bacon, greens and fried dumplings, not bad buns and regular yogurt) from fruits - watermelon, bananas, pamelo and tasteless melon and asterisks (I don’t remember the name ), there were not even pineapples and papaya. In Thailand, the choice of fruits in the hotel was larger and the prices for fruits on the market are much cheaper. It was very annoying that you had to constantly travel somewhere to eat (there is not even a mini market on the street near the hotel where you could buy at least water, yogurt, cookies or some small thing) the store is only near the Crown Plaza to which to go half an hour, sometimes we ate in the local pizzeria - relatively normal, but while you wait for the order, you can sleep, there is also a cafe "Birch" and "Traktir" (a car will come from there for free, they drove back and forth, but the food was like in a cheap canteen - we had enough one at a time). You can eat tasty and satisfying in Sanya in the mall where McDonald's is in the Amazon grill bar (for 79 yuan a buffet and a lot of different grilled meats). Separately, I want to say more about Pegasus, they intimidated us, of course, that it was dangerous to go on excursions ourselves, they told different stories, gave terrible examples. We went everywhere by taxi ourselves - we took a minibus for 8 people - all Russians. Personally, we went to the "Thermal Springs" - nothing is normal. The guys from our group went almost everywhere - the rest of the excursions are also nothing special. As for the cost of rest, I would not say that it is cheap. Food is expensive. The Chinese are cunning, everyone is tense, sometimes they observed fights between locals for a funny reason, they try to cheat everywhere, they don’t give change on buses, they bring bills with large sums in cafes, you have to count it yourself. The only thing you can buy there is bed linen and tea. In the end, a little about Pegasus, you won’t get any information from Russian guides, except for their excursions, not friendly and not nice guys. Their Chinese counterparts were more talkative. In addition, on the evening of our departure, none of the guides accompanied us to the airport - just a bus with a Chinese driver came (in Russian as well as in English, not a word) and we were taken to the departure terminal. Duty free in the port is miserable (only booze, no choice) there is also duty free in the city, where, upon presentation of a ticket and passport, you can buy clothes, cosmetics, etc. , the choice is impressive, but the price tag is not happy, sometimes it’s cheaper in our company stores at home, However, we certainly did not compare. And attention - if you buy something there, then the purchase will not be handed over to you, but will be delivered to the port for your departure. In general, involuntarily compared with Thailand, I liked the rest in China less, although we easily get used to the peculiarities of the local population. Of the advantages, only the beauty of nature.
