We rested at the Beach Albatros Resort 4 * from 07/21/2014 to 08/04/2014. Prior to that, we had a rest many times in many countries of Europe, Africa and Asia, in Egypt there were more than 10 times for sure, but this hotel left the most "bright" memories. A ticket was bought with a "standard" room, on the spot they paid 100 euros extra for a room in the main building with a sea view for 14 nights.
So, in order. From the pros:
- The presence of a smooth sandy entry into the sea. Actually, thanks to this characteristic, our choice in the first place fell on this hotel.
- Delicious ice cream of several types almost all day long.
- Unlimited bottled water.
- Cleanliness of the rooms.
- The presence of a pier right next to the hotel, which allows you to go on sea excursions with great convenience.
- Another plus for me was the opportunity to sit in the Columbus bar and drink a good cappuccino.
Of the minuses (there are more):

- The ill-conceived design of the beach, as a result of which most people want to relax on sunbeds near the central entry into the sea, and there are not enough sunbeds for everyone. Sunbeds need to be borrowed at 6 in the morning and these same sunbeds are far from being in the best shape - a lot of broken ones. However, the hotel has a good pier, on which there are a lot of new sunbeds that are empty. Vacationers do not want to lie on the pier, because. there is no entrance to the sea from the pier, and stomping to the sandy entrance is apparently too lazy or inconvenient with children. An equipped descent from the pier to a depth would definitely solve this problem, people would be dispersed over all the sunbeds and would not crowd in one place.
- Small rooms with shabby furniture and fixtures.
- Dark area of the hotel. It is known that it gets dark early in Egypt, but this problem is easily solved with the help of lighting. But not in this hotel. After 6 - 7 pm you have to make your way around the hotel in the dark, and after 21.00 and even more - there is very little lighting.
- The hotel has swimming pools with slides for children and adults. So these slides finish their work at 17.00 - at the most comfortable time, when the sun no longer bakes and children and adults can enjoy being in the pools without the threat of burning out in the sun. We are not big fans of swimming pools and mostly spend time at sea, but this fact does not add to the advantages of organizing a holiday.
- Lack of an amphitheater or some comfortable and large area for children's evening animation. There are a lot of children in the hotel and there is even a hint of animation, but there is simply no place for children to dance, jump. The animators on the stage are meter by meter, and the children are forced to crowd three meters under the stage. I think it's just child abuse.
- Lack of service as such. If you are going to this hotel, then be prepared to serve your own table, bring drinks, etc. For more than half of the staff, there is simply nothing to leave a tip for, with the exception of maids and some bartenders.

- Ill-conceived catering in restaurants (it can rather be called canteens), i. e. breakfast and dinner (lunch I don't know, we didn't go) are served simultaneously in 4 or 5 restaurants, but in one you can see only french fries and some vegetables, in the other beef and chicken, etc. To choose a meal for yourself, you must first go around all the restaurants and make a choice, and then take it and eat. Thus, when you come to dinner, you need to take a table, often bring your own cutlery, run around all the restaurants on two floors (they are connected by stairs), take food and drinks. This is the first time we have encountered such a system. Everywhere, if we talk about the AII system, there are one or two main restaurants with a full range of food and separate a la carte restaurants. As a result, the food seemed to be quite good, but these everyday throwings were exhausting and spoiled the overall impression.
- And of course, the main “decoration” of the hotel is the contingent of vacationers, 80% of whom are Russians. For the first time we rested in a hotel where there are so many Russians, and the sea brought impressions. We witnessed how in the evening they go to the toilet on the beach on the sand, despite the abundance of toilets in the hotel (they made a remark, but from the young lady - like water off a duck's back…. . ), how people in a restaurant on the beach drink glasses of vodka at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, immediately burp at the table (sorry, but it's true) and immediately drink again and again the same thing..... And these are married couples....Hence the often encountered persistent thick smell of fumes on the beach. There is no need to talk about the concept of dressing for dinner. I'm not talking about evening dresses, but aunts of 100 kg. could have thought of wearing something more appropriate than tight shorts that cover half of the buttocks, but at the same time reveal underwear not for everyone to see..... It's sad, but these are not isolated cases, but systemic phenomena.
Conclusion. In general, our holiday was a success - we went beyond the sea and a great beach - we got it. They put up with the peculiarities of the hotel and service and tried not to spoil their mood. There are also a lot of impressions)) But next time (if we consider Egypt), we will definitely not choose the Albatros group hotel, because. management is the same everywhere, and he is pretty lame.
