My wife and I are from Ukraine. This hotel has been rated 5-star by our travel company. At the end of October we stayed at Pharaoh Azur for 9 nights / 10 days.
Upon arrival, we approached the main lobby. It is located inside the pyramid, which creates a pleasant atmosphere. The first impression is generally good. The lobby was very spacious and clean. The air was filled with fragrance from the fragrance. However, on a second glance, we began to notice that the hotel is quite old. Gives out furniture, rust on the metal stairs and cut through the "naphthalene".
Check-in: We were very lucky to be served by a very friendly and kind receptionist. His name is Hasan. Special thanks to him for excellent service from day one.
Hassan checked us in 2 hours before the official check in time and upgraded us to a superior room for free instead of our standard garden view room. Also, Hasan arranged a late check out for us on our last day. We are very grateful to him for this!
We were taken to our room in a golf cart. On the way, we noticed that the sidewalk in the hotel was badly damaged. In some areas it was more noticeable, in others less so. I guess from the constant use of "golf carts". In some places where there was heavy "traffic", the pavement was blackened from tires. This is not very disappointing, but spoils the "aesthetics" a little. Also, if you want to walk on this asphalt barefoot or in heels, it will be a problem.
Our superior room was spacious and better than the standard room.
Just out of curiosity, we asked to be shown a standard room so that we could compare its condition and the view from the window. Hassan showed us this room which was cleaner but still worse. The superior room has a king size bed and extra furniture. In addition, it has a large screen TV and more beautiful floor tiles, more beautiful walls, decor and curtains. Superior room with pool/mountain view. "Mountains" are better seen from the third floor. We were on the second.
What we didn't like about the room: despite the fact that the room is large and nicely furnished, the condition of the furniture is quite bad. I would rate it 6 out of 10. Everything looks MUCH better in the official pictures. Also, the room was far from being "brilliantly clean". There were stains on the walls, the furniture was worn, covered with remnants of paint from the whitewashing of the walls (in the recent past, I believe, small touch-ups were done on the walls).
However, my wife and I may have fairly high standards of cleanliness, this is subjective. Hard to say. But for us it was far from clean: there were dirty areas on the floor, especially near walls, corners, under furniture. There were scattered pieces of dust and dirt with a diameter of about 5-10 mm, which were visible on the tiled floor. The bathroom was quite clean but also in a rather poor condition. It was evident that the mirrors were worn out, the hoses, sewers, faucets and showers were worn out.
Another small disappointment for me personally was that our room was in the "wing" of a neighboring hotel and this hotel was undergoing major renovations. They changed the paving stones outside. During the day there was a lot of noise from tractors and machinery. However, the busiest time was from 10 am to 5 pm, when we were usually at the beach or indoors, so we decided not to change rooms due to this issue.
Now let's talk about some other important aspects of hotel services:
Food: We really liked the food. The choice of food was not great, but the food was really tasty. There was not one terrible meal. The only food I found absolutely terrible was sliced breakfast cheese and sausage. My wife was a bit sad that the meat selection for lunch/dinner was not so great. Mainly beef and chicken in several variations. For me personally, this was enough. I have a pretty big sweet tooth, so I paid more attention to "desserts". I was very pleased, especially with the fact that there were a lot of Arabic (oriental) and Egyptian sweets. In general, there was a lot of local food, and I really liked it. Special thanks to Samia for the amazing omelets every morning and Mahmoud for the wonderful Belgian waffles!

Lunches and dinners are very good, there is always fish, chicken, meat, vegetables, salads, the same fruits and desserts, I was lucky - I got into a period when there were pomegranates, persimmons, figs)))... There are enough places in the restaurant ! Regarding the queues in the restaurant - yes, they exist, but this is only in the first 20-30 minutes! , When the first wave of hungry flocks, then everything is free, near all the distributions).
The sea also IS! )... There are two piers on the beach, 80 and 180 meters, not new, but not killed either, + they are being repaired a little. There are low tides, but only in the morning, and in my second week of rest they stopped altogether. There is also a reef, and there are fish, but only near the second pontoon (180 m), also near it the water is warmer and there are fewer waves.
The territory is medium in size, not big, but not small), there is a place to take a walk, they go around the hotel every 10-15 minutes. mini-cars, and if you don't feel like walking, you can always ride).
On excursions - I won’t tell you, this time it was a lazy rest)
Animation - weak, I saw animators only on the 2nd week of rest + they are not very active)))). . .
In the evening there is always an entertainment program for both children and adults...
RESULT: The hotel is good, of course, not all 5 *, but a solid 4! ) You can relax, and most importantly do it with a positive and good mood!

Many thanks to the guest relations manager Polina for taking into account all our wishes, for pleasant communication and a compliment upon arrival. You are a super professional in your field, a wonderful companion and a charismatic beauty!!! ! To the animators Sambo and Basil, energetic and charming guys, positive and sociable brothers))) To all those who created an incredible oriental fairy tale this summer, many thanks.
It was the first family vacation abroad with my daughters (they used to go together), so the hotel was selected in advance, read the reviews and watched a video about the rest in this place.
The hotel is not far from the airport, after a 15 minute drive we were there. The check-in went quickly, the temperature was measured at the entrance, at the reception desk they gave out 3 cards from the room in an envelope, took into account our wishes for a bungalow by the sea, which we sent when booking and a plan of the hotel area with our bungalow marked, loaded us with our suitcases on an open typewriter and brought straight to the place. The bungalow exceeded our expectations: everything, as ordered, 2 separate bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, hot water constantly with a set of snow-white towels, shower gel and soap, a hairdryer, a living room with a TV and a balcony, all rooms are clean with air conditioning, large blue beach towels for each , safe is free, a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, an electric kettle, a supply of water for each 1.5 liters, coffee, tea, sugar, everything you need for a good rest. Cleaning every day, if there is no need, then you can hang a bag with the inscription "do not disturb" and then they will put water under the door for everyone. And most importantly, it is an unsurpassed view of the sea and the morning dawn, when the sun rises over the sea, it is magical.
We had 2 problems with the room - the card opening the door was demagnetized, they called the receptionist from the restaurant on the beach and after 5 minutes the doors were opened with a spare new card and changed it. The second time the air conditioner stopped working for cooling, and this problem was solved to us very quickly when we contacted, they immediately sent a worker and eliminated everything very quickly. The territory is large, green and well-groomed - watered, sheared and cleaned early in the morning without disturbing vacationers. There are practically no insects, in the evening they are poisoned with special equipment. The pool near the main building is 1.40 deep, for children there is a small slide and the depth is less there, the water is warm, there is a bar with a set of different drinks, there are enough sunbeds, although they have been reduced to increase the distance between vacationers by current standards, animation in the ball pool, and nearby yoga and darts. The animators have time everywhere and involve everyone in different locations as much as possible - there was volleyball on the beach at 11 and 15 (an international team with my husband and daughter mastered all the languages of the world along with the game))). Was for those who wish and football.
In the evening, a varied program - we participated in karaoke, there was a disco for children with a clown animator, the music was mostly local, but there were also world hits, I hope ours will appear))). The show program was presented by oriental dances of the girl in different outfits, the national dance in skirts fascinated us all, well, the animators lit up and danced together. In general, there is something to see, you can be both a participant and an observer, but if you are a lover of restaurants, that is, 2 - Italian and Eastern, you can visit by appointment for free, we liked more Italian with excellent waiters and interesting dishes. The main restaurant - in connection with the well-known events, all protection measures for vacationers and employees have been strengthened, everyone is wearing masks, gloves and individual helmets.
All tables are quickly cleared of dishes, for each individual a set of forks, spoons, a knife, napkins, salt and pepper. Tables and furniture are wiped after each with antiseptics. Cuisine - each of us found his favorite dish in the morning and at lunch and in the evening))) Hit in the morning Viennese waffles with fillings for every taste, eggs (omelettes with vegetables and boiled yoghurts, muesli, pastries, etc. everyone finds something Lunch at a restaurant on the beach, under awnings - french fries, pizza in the oven to choose from, side dishes, meat, fish, vegetables, you can’t list everything. Fruits for each meal are different about 4 types: pears, grapefruit, oranges, dates, melon , figs, watermelon, grapes, bananas. The pastries are very tasty and varied.
Drinks to choose from, alcohol - beer from cans is normal, white and red wine, cocktails were taken with rum, low-alcohol ones, you can use vodka, etc. , the taste is normal. Take as much as you want, no limits. Ice cream at 15 o'clock at the beach restaurant, different tastes, without restrictions too. The sea is very warm and transparent with ebbs and flows, good and rich water world - colorful fish, sea urchins and crabs.
