I’ll note right away that it’s best to go with a group ...there were eight of us (we went for two weeks in April 2007) ...

Landed. At the airport, card red tape awaits you immediately - rewriting passport data, etc. Then your company bus picks you up and takes you to the hotel. Please note on the way that, unlike the "elite" hotels in the middle of the desert, on the outskirts, where there is nowhere to even go for a walk in the evening ...Regina is located right in Sakala - this is the center. The location is not just good, it is a trump card. . Anyone who has ever lived in the center will not exchange it even for a six-star hotel on the outskirts. We walked EVERY DAY in the city, not counting, of course, the days spent in Cairo and Luxor.

Stock up on creams, sprays and other tanning cosmetics, otherwise you will “peel off” on the 3rd day of your stay. Of the entire two-week trip, I “lyed” on the beach for only a couple of days - after all, I am a lover of more active recreation, it was a very pity time.
More about the hotel later..
Strong advice to anyone who is going to Hurghada: rent motorbikes for a couple of days. . (5min left from Regina on the opposite side of the street) You have no idea how great it is! . . especially in the evening city...lights, colors - beauties! Moreover, you will see the city, and it is far from small, as it may seem at first glance, it is simply impossible to do this on foot. You will become more or less well oriented and buy the same thing at a lower price than in the center. Agree, constantly being in the center you will not feel the true atmosphere (I generally keep quiet about hotels located outside the city (that is, about the majority !! )). Walk more! ..

Your guide will provide various excursion programs. We went to Cairo and Luxor, as I said. Still very good in Alexandria and Aswan. It was hard to go to Cairo (departure at night, the road is long. We were told 4.5-5 hours, it turned out to be more than 7 ..
) Do not expect something supernatural from Cairo - yes, it is the capital . . but, as you understand, not European, but African . . Locals on donkeys (very funny =)), the Nile and of course Giza with the pyramids and the Sphinx. This is a must see! ! And also a museum - it is very large, so you only need to look at the most interesting (the famous mask of Tutankhamen, the golden sarcophagus, etc. ). In general, we are always lucky for adventures, and this time we could not do without them - we got into a sandstorm. Again interesting. They swam down the Nile, rode in carriages ..

Luxor is the ancient capital of Egypt. . the tombs, Hachepsut Palace, carved into the rock and a very interesting road. Go is a MUST. If you are in Luxor, take a look. On the columns you can see scratched inscriptions (eg L. Buvry Berlin 1852). Egypt is in a different hemisphere, so even the sky is different . . the month is visible from below - like in mosques, not from the side like ours, as if you find yourself in an Arabian fairy tale ..

The road to the ancient capital passes through the old Arab villages. . I will always remember the evening road from Luxor, because it gets dark early and quickly - it was dark as night...and this month. . unforgettable memories..

We went to the Bedouins on quad bikes, where we rode camels, ate cakes . . A stunning view of the desert from the sandy hills . . We also returned back late in the evening.

I highly recommend diving! But only big! Not the usual one that is offered at the hotel - they take it not far and there is nothing special to see there . . Those who are the first time - do not be afraid! Very responsible and friendly instructors. Be sure to agree to be photographed underwater - it turns out brighter than on video, although we took both.

About the hotel. Our company lived in 4 rooms in the left building. Someone had a better number, someone worse - how lucky. We got number 433.
In general, it was a normal room, but there were also disadvantages: the water pressure in the shower was weak and in order to wait for warm water you had to let it run for about 5 minutes, the phone did not work, the pillows, of course, are dead, but for example, I like low ones . . but the beds themselves are very comfortable, wide, it is very pleasant to rest in them, not counting the bugs that occasionally creep into a peaceful overnight stay. If you take with you more humor, optimism, a thirst to see something new for yourself, interesting, if you are determined to have a great time - everything will be so! And no flaws will affect it, believe me. Moreover, armed with a friendly smile and courtesy, they will definitely help you solve your problems (well, maybe almost everything) . . especially girls and interesting women))) I made friends with many good people - both Arabs and Russians (and not only ! ).
Important information: exchange rubles for dollars back in Russia, in Hurghada the ruble does not roll at all - you can’t do anything with it, even change it . . only if the guide has a small number and then it’s unknown . . Bring dollars and you won’t lose! But it’s better to exchange them for pounds on the spot, because they don’t have cents - they round in their favor, you will lose money when buying.

Attention. By tradition, tourists passed on the following information along the chain, we entered this happy community and also passed it on, I’ll tell you: within 3 days, including the day of arrival, you have the right to buy various foreign products at a local duty free at a low price (this is not for you Duty Free at the airport! , where the prices are so high that you doubt its duty-free... ) For example, a bottle of 2 liters of real Canadian whiskey-scotch cost $ 8, i. e. less than 215 rubles!! ! In Russia, you would have to shell out a tidy sum. But you do need a passport.
When our deadline of 3 days expired, we caught visitors with "fresh" passports and cooperated =)) Everyone was satisfied) We recruited who - what ...beer, perfume, cigarettes, etc. The store itself is small and it is not easy to find it despite the proximity of the location because it is on the second floor. How to find: exit the hotel and on the same side to the left, walk for 10-15 minutes ...whoever walks. You will see an artificial tree on the wall - here it is ...next to the stairs, the second floor.

Food. The food is normal, but in the end I got bored to hell, I didn’t even eat their incomprehensible cakes of 20 kinds ...again, not a problem ...go to another place where you like it better ...In the evening there is great live music in the bar. Two Russians (a man and a girl) and an Arab sing. They sing wonderfully ...I remember with pleasure ...

In general, I had a delightful time, and I sincerely wish you the same. Ride for sure! Of course, I haven't told much yet. . with questions, you can write to me on silvermail. en@list.
Common crawl en I'll be glad to help) If your hotel is not in the center, don't be upset...if you are with our Russian thinker, everything will be ok))) Do not judge strictly, if something goes wrong...I tried. What am I all if, yes if..
Good luck to you! Everything will work out!
