I visited Egypt in September 2009. For the first time in foreign countries : ). Operator "Pegas Touristik". I flew well (I flew from Krasnodar), at the airport I was met by the Pegasus guide, put me on the bus, and drove to the hotel. Actually, I and another vacationer from Krasnodar, who went down in the history of Egypt as Dr. Sergei, bought a tour to the Sol Sharm hotel (side by side with Sol Siren), and brought us with him clearly to this very Sol Sharm. There, comrade Mustafa (the guy at the reception), smiling slyly, tied straps on the hands of naive Russian tourists with the mysterious inscription "Sol Sirens". The doctor and I, as ingenuous people, at first did not pay attention to this.
We rolled our belongings to the room. Here, I'll tell you, our Arab brothers (who rolled bags-suitcases) treated us (at least with me, I don't know about the doctor) not like brothers: they dumped the bag in the dust of the road. First of all, I have a bag, there are wheels, but the stability on them is not like that of a suitcase. The son of the desert did not take into account the peculiarities of the transported property. Well figs with him. By the way, without a baksheesh (tip) he did not leave the room, so have small dollar bills (well, you probably know this without me).
The room was small, without a balcony, but I had enough space. Everything worked, the water was even hot. At first, the TV showed only 1 Russian channel "Music Box", where clips were played. I set up Channel One and Russia myself. True, I didn’t really have to watch them: there was no time : ). To tell the truth, I expected more from the number (for the first time abroad), but in general it will do. But Dr. Sergei, who got the same number, cursed for a long time, gave 10 USD, and he was moved to Sol Sharm, as it was supposed to. I also wanted to follow his example, but then changed my mind. I'll tell you why below.

Settled in and went to eat. It was evening, dinner was already over, there was little food left. But I've had enough.
In the morning I woke up at 5 o'clock, to see the difference in time. But it was already light, and when I wandered to the beach at 6 in the morning, the sun was even hot. I liked the sea very much: clean, warm, I was sailing straight from the pier without preparation and there was no discomfort from temperature changes. Only it is bitterer than the native Black. More salt. So don't open your eyes in the water : ). There are no corals on the hotel beach. There aren't a lot of fish either. They say the corals were killed by an excavator. But if you go to the right (if you look at the sea) for a kilometer and a half, you will reach the beach of the Coral Sea Hotel, and behind it is the beach of the Baron Hotel. There are corals on both beaches, they are generally awesome on Baron, but they drive them away from there, although I once swam with a mask, walking smartly along the pontoon and brazenly diving into the depths of the sea in front of an unsuspecting caretaker. The fact is that vacationers at the Baron Hotel do not have straps on their hands. And Sol Siren has it, yellow. You can remove it either by breaking the clasp, or by tearing it (cutting it), but then you have to ask for a new one so that you don’t get scammed from your native beach and other hot spots of Sol Siren. You can also slowly stretch the strap, and then pull it off your hand with soap. Strangers are also chased from Coral Sea beach, but here you can cheat: this hotel has white straps without inscriptions, while Sol Siren and fraternal Sol Sharma have yellow and blue ones, respectively. But you know what the other side of the straps is, you know? That's right, white! Experienced people turn the straps inside out and stomp on the Coral Sea beach, admire the corals and fish. We, along with other vacationers from Krasnodar, even took beer in their bar on the beach, but this is impudence, of course : ). And now the first reason why I did not want to move to Sol Sharm: the beach towels of Sol Siren and Coral Sea were the same, like twin brothers! Like the party and Lenin! But Sol Sharma's towels, for all their stripes, differed in shade. You can, of course, not take a towel to Coral Sea beach, but it's better with it. By the way, our Arab comrades from the reception Sol Siren said that their guests were allowed to enter Coral Sea without any problems - this is not true. They drive you in the neck, like the Germans from Moscow. If you do not cheat with the straps, of course.
I read a review that said that in Sol Siren they do not speak Russian. Apparently, by my arrival, they had mastered the basics of the great and mighty, for at the very least they broadcast in Russian. True, if you do not swear with them. As soon as you start swearing, they switch to English and pretend that in our opinion they don’t talk at all.
There are really a lot of Italians and the service staff gave them priority: better rooms, waiters first to them, then to us and other little things. There are fewer Italians in Sol Sharma.

I liked the food: I ate hearty, for the first three days I ate everything, even cakes, then I refused sweets so as not to get fat : ). Meat was given, beef, of course. They cooked Italian pasta, scrambled eggs, in the evenings meat on the grill. In short, for food - a solid 5.
Here is the second reason why I did not move to Sol Sharm: in Sol Siren, in the pool bar and in the restaurant, bottled water was given out, and not for bottling. This is a super useful item! You can take a bottle to your room and have a drinking supply there (in no case should you drink from the tap! ). I stuffed a full mini-bar of water, since it was empty. But the main value of water is on excursions. Of course, the hotel gave tourists the so-called ration: buns, apples, a small bag of juice. But the juice is sweet and not enough, but you want to drink. This is where bottled water comes in handy. Of course, you can buy it, but it's better to get it for free, since it's all inclusive : ). In Sol Sharm, bottled water was not supplied, only in glasses.
Rooms in Sol Sharm and Sol Siren are exactly the same. When Dr. Sergey with a fight and 10 c. u. moved to Sol Sharm, I visited his room: everything is like mine, only larger and with a balcony. Sol Sirene also has such numbers, he himself saw Vasily from St. Petersburg and the guys from Belarus.
I didn't see any animators. Unless in the evening, at 22.00, I went to their show in Sol Sharm. Yeah, they didn't really interest me. By the way, they are not Italians: one girl is either Russian or Ukrainian, her name is Olga, the second is an Arab who constantly laughed and spoke tolerably in Russian. There seemed to be two or three of them.
The evening performance ended with a disco in a hookah bar. The room is without walls, except for fabric panels, so the sofas there are dusty, just a dream of a vacuum cleaner. In white, it’s better not to sit on them, otherwise such a fashionable purple lamp hangs under the ceiling, from which white glows in the dark, and if you take it out in the dust, you will glow, to put it mildly, not kosher.

The waiters there are slow and, it seemed to me, not very fond of Russians. They bring something for a long time, then disappear somewhere. I don’t know anything in Arabic except for “asalam alleykum” (is this an Arabic greeting? ), but Dr. Sergei, who had a lot of contact with Arabs and spoke a little in their language, angrily told me that he had heard how the waiters among themselves called the guests pigs and dogs O_O! In Arabic, of course.
The pools are normal, there are few people around them, usually Italians. In general, they loved pools more than the sea. The area is not very big. What is more interesting with Sol Sharma than Sol Siren is the territory. More fun somehow.
Like this. I hope I told you something useful : ).
